This street has long been Rue Agnès Varda.
People just don't know it yet. She didn't tell them.

We've got our masks and are washing our hands, but luckily in our part of France the infection rate is very low, if any at all. Which might mean we aren't put into lockdown again. Or we hope so, although the medical experts have suggested to him that a full Nation wide lockdown is the only way to go."

Update We're on another total lockdown for the next 4 weeks - this will be monitored and may change after 2 weeks. If they can break the chain of infections in the first two weeks, it could ease the total lockdown. But, I think it will last the full 4 weeks.
Going out to walk the dog, taking some exercise & doing the shopping or seeing your doctor is OK. Schools still open, but not universities - studies online. All cafés and restaurants to close.

June 16, 1978 - At the Ancienne Belgique in Brussels
On June 16, 1978, the illustrious New York electro-punks of Suicide, played a 'legendary' concert in the AB. Their unseen, 23 minute storm of minimal electro and hypothermic vocals provoked strong reactions from the audience. Disconcerted about the way his support act was received, Elvis Costello, then still an angry young man (23), pulled the plug himself after half an hour. Disgruntled audiences smashed everything to pieces, after which the police turned out with tear gas to maintain order.

Spotted this old classic sign by fluke, was walking down Thompson St. at the light on Bleecker I just looked up and there it still stands a remaining sign of something grand.
Village Gate was a legendary Greenwich Village nightclub and performance venue on Bleecker Street, opening in 1958 and closing in 1994. Founded by Art D'Lugoff, it was a crucial venue for jazz, folk, Rock, Newwave..etc. The venue was a Mecca for music, holding live recordings for artists of all sounds. Many Friday and Saturday nights of my youth were spent here.
Sad how things change. NYC is a shell of what it was in the music scene..
