I heard that a bicyclist was killed by a dumptruck on Eastlake as I was going to meet Zack and Josiah, who happened to be on Eastlake. This is the scene I found. And not 5 minutes before, I had a FedEx truck nearly run me down in a crosswalk as he ripped down University to make a right turn on red without looking at what was in front of him. Luckily he finally saw me and stopped as I was on his bumper. I looked up at him and waved, then screamed "DICKHEAD" from the bottom of my gut. It's events like this that make me never want to ride a bike in this town again.
As for this poor young soul, the news reports keep saying "he wasn't wearing a helmet". Here's a newsflash: When you get run over by a dumptruck, a helmet isn't going to do shit.

Little bugger wouldn't stay still for long so out of the few shots that I took this was the best of the bunch. Any suggestions as to what kind of Butterfly/Moth this is would be appreciated!
NEWSFLASH...
Apparently I managed to grab a shot of a Chimney Sweeper moth, or to give it it's proper name Odezia atrata! This was Identified on the Birds and Wildlife UK flickr group.

I found this picture I took over a year ago after getting a haircut. I had played with it to make me look that flawless. It's one of those picture my grandkids will look at and say, "Oh, my God. I can't believe granny/mamaw/memaw/grandma/whatever-they-call-me looked like that when she was young." Newsflash. She didn't.
P. S. If I ever, by a miracle, became or musician of some sort, I'd put this on the cover of my CD. What a joke.
Wanted to do one of these. Newsflash... It is harder than it looks. Some decent lighting would have been a plus. Took about 350 shots. This is the best. It is not so great. Oh well. Back to the drawing board...

My host sister Seiko and her little brother Hirotoshi(Seiko is the one in the grey sweater with the glasses, Hirotoshi is in front of her) went to calligraphy lessons and brought me along. I said I'd be fine just watching and the teacher was like "NO YOU WILL DECORATE A FAN!!!!!!" so I decorated a fan with some magical calligraphy. Newsflash: I suck at calligraphy! But this was fun and cute. My sexy hair compliments of unbelievable humidity.
