I've recently decided to stop being such a purist about the photos that I upload and to bring to light all the decent enough shots that have been sitting on my hard drive for the past year or so. One of my biggest downfalls is that I'm too critical of myself, so it's a continual struggle to get over that need for perfection. Newsflash, though: the world isn't perfect, and I'm certainly far from it, so it's time to sit back and enjoy the mediocrity! (I might need to polish this theory a little more. Ironic, isn't it?) Keeping with this spirit, here are my rough gems that didn't quite make the cut on the initial go-round. I hope they meet somebody's standards!
In Manhattan, they drove around me for a similar picture. In Tiananmen Square, the light changed to green, they rev'd their engines and drew a bead on me. I have to rethink this whole standing in traffic, picture taking thing!

After a day of 100 degree temps, road construction, a thunder storm, and nasty crosswinds, we stopped in Livingston, MT for the night. We were zonked. The electricity in the whole town went out just as I finished paying for the room. We took showers in the dark, hung up all of our sweaty clothes to dry, then went searching for dinner as we hadn't had a meal today. Oops, no electricity, no restaurants open. The Albertson's across the street still had deli chicken and emergency generators running the cash registers, so we grabbed what was left and had a picnic on the lawn of our Super 8. A goumet meal for our first night out.
