Shopping for jeans is always an ordeal for me. My legs are a bit of a difficult shape - I try not to wear clothes that make them look even more short and stubby than they are. If I need new jeans - forget it! I can't buy new clothes under pressure. But I was in Wal-Mart today getting some craft stuff (puffy paint, fat quaters - I found John Deere print fat quarters!! How cool is that? - yarn... you know, the usual) and since I was there I decided I might as well try a few pairs of jeans on. Three of them were horrible, but I ended up buying two pairs. These ones do nothing for my ass, but at least they don't bulge in the back or threaten to fall down (unlike those Day 43 jeans) and they'll do for work. That's what I'm really short on right now - jeans that I don't care about keeping clean. Ones that don't look stupid with a tool belt, not that I'm wearing a tool belt much these days. These, and the other pair I bought, will do just fine.
i found the perfect pair of black trousers. but since my legs are about 10cm too short, i took them to the tailor today.

Good thing she has a new turtleneck sweater and a bright, cheerful dress to keep her warm on snowy winter days.
Bree was an impulse buy. She is a Resinsoul Yu in dark tan (though she is lighter than my dark tan Li, Aja but darker than all my coffee tan kids). She was not looking happy in her original outfit and I got the impression she wanted to be purple, so here she is in her new outfit, looking quite pleased.

Yay! New clothes! For me! They fit!
The hair bobble through the button hole trick was no longer working and even my big slobbing about tops were getting too tight and short so I decided to order some new clothes. Normally I expect to have to send half of it back, but thanks to the Gap and JoJoMamanBebe sales I have kept the lot and now have clothes that fit. Happy days. :)
All in all not a bad day - we even got to nursery ahead of time this morning, probably as I drove all the way rather then making them walk half of it due to the wind and rain.
a dose of sunshine on the weekend has me positively beaming my way into the new week.
here, the little dress i couldn't pass up in H&M (yes, you read that right) and the cardigan, which looked way more peach next to all that peach stuff in the store, but happily seems more latte-colored now.
the mirror was really dirty - it's been sitting out in the terrace all winter.

Ivy and Rose got some new clothes from their grandmother Sallie, and they were just pleased as punch. Ivy was sure that her new clothing made her look very grown up (it did) and that with it she looked 10 years old (she didn't).
Anyway, I asked if they'd like me to take some photos, and they both did, so I spent some time cleaning up the studio for a quick shoot.

Day 4 of However Many Days I Feel Like Doing.
So the past few weeks have been a bit rough. Holidays awesome, everything else meh... I'm beginning to stress out a lot about what the hell I am going to do come September - I want to move to Chicago and work there very badly, but so far it looks almost impossible (basically someone has to sponsor me). And my work visa for the UK is going to expire in September - which means I am screwed.
Cue major headaches.
Anyway, I had to run a whole bunch of errands today. And I got sidetracked a bit and bought some (cheap) clothes instead :) Retail therapy is good.
I found this sweet singlet with 78 on it, which is the year of my birth. I'm not sure if I should be worried that this kind of thing is sold in H&M and that the teeny boppers are probably like "Ha ha, 78 was in the olden days!!"
But I don't care.
I have been on the Jenny Craig diet since starting a job there in October. I have so far gone past my half way goal and have lost 15 pounds and 12.5 inches! As a result I have gone from a size 12/14 pants to size 4/6 depending on the pants! It is crazy how much more confident I am and how much I enjoy getting dressed everyday now! 15 pounds doesn't seem like much but I feel a million times more healthy and lighter:-) We take clients pictures at work before the lose the weight, at half way, and at their goal. It is amazing the difference in my photos. Half of my inches lost came from my hips/butt. I wish I could get those photos and put them up here...maybe I'll try! Tomorrow Pat and I are driving to Manlius, NY (right outside Syracuse) to see some old friends of mine. It is sort of random. My best friend from when I was like 8 years old lives there with her entire family. She moved to NY and we haven't seen each other since. A friend from California is visiting them right now and called to see if I could come up so I'm going tomorrow! I can't wait. My friend and her sister just both got married and had babies like within a month of each other! I'll take lots of pictures I'm sure:-)
It's been awhile since I formally updated pictures, so I apologize for my absence! These pictures are from a few weeks ago, when all the clothes I ordered from Miema's doll house came in the mail (all $70 worth :P)! I also got to hang out with my dear buds Michelle and get crew (pictures of that are forth coming as well) and a new girl joined my family! :D Much excite!
Updating on a phone stinks! I long for my lap top. :P
