making tests for an iceberg sculpture.

Our backyard squirrels have stolen half of my tomato crop so far this year. I added a layer of netting on top of the fencing around my raised bed in an attempt to keep them out.

"I've lost my shoe but the show must go on"

This was created in response to a call for art dolls by art group MVAN [Maidstone Visual Artist Network].

She represents how I feel most days; like I am dancing with one shoe but the show must go on and on and on.

Whole thing!

The backing felt is wool, and I felt like the bottom corners were to empty, so there you go, some more felt, why not.

Freehand mixed-media embroidery done during my commute (though stretched and backed at home).

Blue and White Tulle Netting

This is blue bubble wrap for packing. Blue plastic toy cut open to make large buttons. The top skirt is blue netting with added sequins. This dress was altered, added a zipper and sash for the prom dress.

Based on Maria Rypan's basic collar, these 'snippets' of handstitched netting are great lightweight earrings. Finished with sterling silver wires.

Drogue parachute, fresh with anti-inversion netting

I have a new toy; black plastic netting. Haven't quite figured out how to photograph it yet, but we tried.

I love this one because it reminds me how much beauty can be found in the most mundane things.

This Jan.6/Riversong shot was taken looking through the netting on our gazebo that looks out onto the Elk River. :)

Happy Sunday!

LARGE

I like to challenge myself each time I go out with my camera. Today was the black and white challenge.

Mosquito netting over the bed to prevent malaria and yellow fever

A sad photo showing why rubbish in oceans is a bad thing. The seal seemed ok, so hopefully it's not in too much trouble from the netting

I'm not keen on this lamp shade. It's been in our lounge since we moved in. Unfortunately, I think the wife likes it.

Acrylic paint and net on canvas board

Lack of inspiration forces retrieval of older photograph... sometimes we just get tied in knots

Wishing you all a Happy Fence Friday from my backyard to yours.
