Èze is a commune in the Alpes-Maritimes department in southeastern France, not far from the city of Nice. The area surrounding Èze was first populated around 2000 BC as a commune situated near Mount Bastide. The earliest occurrence of the name "Èze" can be found in the maritime books of Antonin as a bay called the St. Laurent of Èze. A hoard of ancient Greek silver phialae dating from the 3rd Century BC was found in Èze in the late nineteenth century and is now part of the British Museum's collection. The area was subsequently occupied by not only the Romans but also the Moors who held the area for approximately 80 years until they were driven out by William of Provence in 973

With the thaw, fog rolls in from the sea, the landscape changes and the contrasts dissolve, it´s like staying in a fairy tale.

Should get dry clothes and blankets to my Romani sponsor family at first.

I love the winter, when snow that lights up our dark season, when the sun only is here for a couple hours.

I love the spring when the birds return, gives me symphony orchestra in the forest, all the flowers on the ground.

I love summer hot days, light clothing, a picnic in the park, boat trip on the lake.

But mostly I love the fall for all the wonderful colors.

The trees vary even just in a little yellow here, but I will jump-start with my own creationer in autumn color robes.

English: Chapel of St. Nicholas, Lantern Hill St.Nicholas's chapel in Ilfracombe is perched dramatically atop steep little Lantern Hill, a major feature of the entrance to Ilfracombe Harbour. This little building is said to be the oldest extant in Ilfracombe, dating originally from the C13th. By 1522 it was acting as a lighthouse, and according to this unique lighthouse. it still carries a lantern, established in 1650, which currently emits a green flash every 2½ seconds. The chapel underwent thorough restoration in the 1960s.

This downy woodpecker was waiting to fly up to the suet feeder during a snow squall one winter. It was grasping a lilac branch outside one of my windows. This was taken in Northeastern PA.

Örbyhus castle.

Örbyhus has a long history, from the 1300s as an castle and fortress in Uppland, Sweden.

Best known in Sweden, it is, as the place where the kingdom of the king of 1500's, after fighting between brothers was detained in custody, and eventually, according to legend, poisoned to death by his brothers with arsenic in pea soup.

The castle was rebuilt in the 1600's to a Baroque palace and have today this design.

It was also sounded build a Renaissance garden at the side of the old castle with aqueducts, dams and canals.

Today the castle is privately owned, but the park is open to the public.

When I visited York Minster in 2014, the stained glass of the great East window was under renovation. It is the largest expanse of medieval stained glass in the UK, the size of a tennis court. It was the work of a glazier, John Thornton, and completed in 2014. He was paid 56 pounds.

I was fascinated by this collage poster of some of the people depicted in the stained glass. It was found in an educational display, and I took a photo of it. After a trip through Deep Dream Generator and Topaz Studio, this is the result, which looks a bit medieval I think. :)
