Great Egrets in the nest...

I loved seeing that the Pine Warblers were preparing a nest nearby. It also delighted that they were using our Lab's hair like the Chickadees do each year.

Whats for dinner Mum ?

I'm not even pretending this is a good quality photo! It's just a FUN SHOT.

These two Osprey were fighting over the perch and it was an AMAZING site to see. By the time I got my 500 lens on and focused it was over! But I at least got this shot of the loser taking off and the winner doing her victory dance!

Funny thing is I saw this same pair set up the nest last May in a much more loving manner!!

On route to Stratford, my brother & I stopped in New Hamburg (lots of family history there) when we came across this incredible sight.

I’ve never seen them in the wild like this & was super excited to get some shots.

Another pit stop in Shakespeare & never made our destination.

Another day maybe 😊

We were lucky to see this Eastern bluebird nest a few years ago in Hershey, Pennsylvania. I used the zoom lens as not to disturb the nest. What a colorful miracle all cozied up inside waiting to make their grand entrance.

A male saddle-billed stork flies by a tree trunk carrying a large branch in its beak for nest building. These are huge birds with wingspans of ~8 feet. The stork pairs build huge nests at the tops of large trees, such as acacia trees, as seen in the accompanying photo. Tarangire National Park, Tanzania.

I found out that she flew towards me because the hole she was fixing up was in the tree near me. I didn't want to scare her, so I photographed her while in a very awkward position.

Norio and Yuba in their respective nests. It appears as if Yuba has finally stopped annoying Norio about Norio's spot...

The male bluebird lands on a nearby perch with a baby crayfish meal before heading up to the nest to feed the young.

Spotted this wasp nest on one of my regular walks to Reading Town Centre via the River Kennet path. I have to say I hadn't seen one before and I was amazed at the shapes and swirls of the construction.

(No - I didn't rush home for the macro lens).

This sycamore was one of the largest and widest trees in the park at the edge of a remote section of the wetland. Perfect spot to build a massive nest and survey the area.

Snowy egrets breed in mixed colonies, which may include great egrets, night herons, tricolored herons, little blue herons, cattle egrets, glossy ibises and roseate spoonbills. The male establishes

a territory and starts building the nest in a tree, vines or very thick undergrowth. He then attracts a mate with an elaborate courtship display which includes dipping up and down, bill raising, aerial displays, diving, tumbling and calling. The immediate vicinity of

the nest is defended from other birds and the female finishes the construction of the nest with materials brought by the male. It is constructed from twigs, rushes, sedges, grasses, Spanish moss

and similar materials and may be 15 inches across. Up to six pale bluish-green eggs are laid which hatch after about 24 days. The young are altricial and covered with white down when first hatched.

They leave the nest after about 22 days. - Lots of fun to observe.

A male Goldcrest in the garden, gathering moss for its nest. This little fellow is very brazen and hops down the branches to within a few feet of me.

Thank you for taking the time to view and 'fave' some of my images.

Stay healthy and safe!

These nesting birds were quietly arranged along the muddy banks of their enclosed pond - the mounds of dirt are carefully sculpted by their beaks and feet, and on each nest a single egg will be laid.

Imagine finding this huge Wasps nest on the wall outside your house! YIKES! I consulted an Entomologist about this and he said "if the wasps aren't bothering you, then let them be, they will leave when the weather gets cold and you can remove the nest then." Thanks for the great comments, Everyone!!!

Taktsang or ‘Tiger’s Nest’ Monastery near Paro. Completed in 1692, the temple hangs on a cliff at 3,120 metres (10,200 feet), some 700 metres (2,300 feet) above the bottom of Paro valley. The place is highly sacred to the Bhutanese in that they believe Guru Rinpoche, the father of Bhutanese Buddhism landed here on the back of tigress.

.... this shag is flying over Waimanu Lagoon, near Waikanae Beach, NZ

I pulled up the shadows here so that you can see the bird's nest in the crack. It was empty (no eggs or hatchlings).
