Thanks so much to the organizers, volunteers and sponsors of Nerd Camp this year! I had an amazing time and it was wonderful catching up with old friends and making new ones. These are some of the photos I took during the event, mainly of people I met rather than the talks (I often had trouble getting into the latter since the rooms were often super-packed, so I left it to others to take better pics :-).
Feel free to share/repost any of these photos, especially in support of Nerd Camp. Please include a photo credit when possible (a tag is fine, or my name: Debbie Ridpath Ohi) -- thanks! On Twitter: @inkyelbows (twitter.com/inkyelbows). On Instagram: @inkygirl (www.instagram.com/inkygirl/). Already counting down the days until next year’s event!

So this is my special little nerd, Brynn. She's a new model of mine, and she's in Bizarre. I decided to portray her as a geek because she was a Biology major, and it's definately not very creative. I just couldn't come up with anything more interesting for her.
Anyways, hair, suspenders, some of shoes drawn. There's also glasses hanging from her pants, but they're hard to see.
Thank you for all the comments! :D
T-shirt design for the Trompe L'oiel contest for shirt.woot.com. This was originally based on the uniform for the Nerd Herd on the t.v. show Chuck, but after it got rejected I resubmitted it without the Nerd Herd name tag and it got the highest placing of any design so far (17th place)
it was my advisor's birthday today, and we decided to up the nerd-
factor by taking advantage of the following un-funny items:
1. a carrot cake in honor of CARET imaging analysis software
2. red-hots to represent cortical activation
3. a mars bar in honor of MarsBaR timecourse analysis software (now!
with timecourses drawn in icing!)
in conclusion: we are lame as hell.

Rare is the time when our group is far from the nerdiest group in the room. This was one of those times.

My mom is a nerd. Check this out: she diagrams her lasagna before she makes it. Each layer is carefully determined, placed with consideration for its relative relation to center. The layers that need more cooking go further towards the outside, the layers that need to be heated more so than cooked go towards the inside.
If you are wondering what kind of brain it takes to be a PhD physical chemist, here it is.
