I had to rearrange my room a little to be able to surf and watch tv at the same time. Kim, who took this picture thought that was kind of funny.
Taken on a roadtrip, driving from Houston to Austin, with a detour to Keema and a short stop in beautiful San Antonio.
This is a photo of nerds against a yellow folder in my room. I set up a small studio in my room with a lamp with a tissue on it and my camera on a tripod. I put a tissue on the lamp to get softer shadows and a more animated look to it. I edited this by creating a pattern in photoshop (one for pink nerds and one for yellow) and layering both photos over each other. I then erased the middle tile of the pink nerds to reveal the yellow behind it. I really like the color and the simple repetition of the nerds.

acrylic "block print" on hand-made paper. 10"x7". 2010.
It's not exactly a block print. I just used that method to transfer the image onto the paper. I used thinned out acrylic paint in place of ink, and some cheap craft foam that I found at WallMart mounted onto heavy paper as a make-shift linoleum block. Due to the texture of the paper, the paint did not take very well, which I sort of expected, but it made a good enough outline that I was able to paint in the gaps with a brush afterwards.
The paper is made from blue and yellow construction paper, yellow printer paper, blue party streamers, tree leaves, and erva-mate (a Brazilian tea). The green parts that you see are the color of the paper.
MCM Comic Con 2018. It has been a few years since I went to MCM Comic Con, and there's just something about this event that feels.... souless. Not sure if I need to take even more time off MCM but as much as I enjoyed the company, I just wasn't there. LFCC is definately my preferred Con.
My labcoat and protective glasses for uni arrived arrived today, which became the source of much laughing around the office. The receptionist had a great time dressing up like a nerd and posing with a "chemical concoction", more accurately known as instant coffee powder disolved in water.

Boris Karloff as TheMummy (1932) classic horror film was my subject in a collabo with Saro one.These are shots of the stencils.Each stencil layer was digitally hand drawn by eye(no filters or tricks) then hand cut on poster board.Enjoy..
