Jerry, Joz and I (right to left) went to school together and used to play Doom 2 over dial-up, modem-to-modem (14.4k!), back in 1995. At times it was a frustrating experience as some modems refused to speak to others if it was the calling party, but worked fine answering other's calls. But when it worked Doom 2 was the most awesome fun. Even today I think its way faster than most first person shooters and we had a ball playing it again on Jerry's X-Box, and on his classic CRT. ;)
I particularly like Jerry's poster of Napoleon Dynamite in the background.

Another easy one today. I am doing the August Alphabet Set and the letter for today is N. also, Flickr Group Roulete invade the Nerd group. So two for the price of one! (It does help when the FGR group is chosen by someone who is also doing the AAS!
Now, I don't think it gets any nerdier than this, anyone who reads Harry Potter in my opinion is a nerd! (I was only doing this briefly, I was actually watching the Beijing Beach volleyball, Greece V Brazil, good game!

Jonathan Stead gamely played the role of a photography nerd for me, complete with Holga and silly spectacles. Unfortunately the man is so damn handsome that he can make nerd glasses look good. If I get a chance to reshoot this I'll fix him up with some stick-on acne and false buck teeth.
This was intended to be a clear-glass ambrotype, but was quite a bit overexposed so ended up being scanned as a negative.
MPP 5x4, 5 sec at f/4.5 in overcast shade (Zeiss Jena 180mm lens).
I was happy to play with 3 lights when I borrowed a Nissin flash from my friend last weekend.
