Festive illustration with neon effect to a photograph of the copy of kremlin ruby star decorating the top of a Christmas tree under a glass roof in the GUM shopping mall at the Red Square during the winter holidays 2018-2019. The original pentagonal luminescent ruby stars were installed on five main towers of the Moscow Kremlin in the 1930s.

And processed for Sliders Sunday, using Ribbet's neon and focal zoom effects. HSS everyone!
Today 35,000 people will participate the 35th running of this St Patrick's Day event in Portland. Unfortunately, I won't be one of them. I have, however, participated multiple times. This is a photo of the logo on my sweatshirt from the 1999 event.

Have you got your iPad, iPhone or Android phone ready for this Halloween?
Photo of the Bonneville Power Administration headquarters building in Portland, Oregon taken for Our Daily Challenge: Empowered.
I considered driving out to Bonneville Dam, the first on the Columbia River, but decided that I shouldn't waste that much power (gas) just for a photo. So I used foot power to walk the ten minutes to the BPA headquarters building.
Applied Ribbet's neon effect.
It seemed like an interesting idea to look at the wing structure of a moth and make a "virtual" heat map of the structure.
Here you will learn to create a realistic neon text effect. In this Photoshop tutorial we will be focusing on. Adding a brick wall background. Then the wall will be transformed in such a mode as it is in a dark nigh view. Then a neo glow font is created and applied on the wall. Then we'll be working with blending options to bring out the glow. We will also create a cord to give it a more realistic effect.

Neon Effect (Picasa ver. 3.9) and adjust contrast.
Default neon effect base color is red, but changable.
Picasa のネオンエフェクトのデフォルトは赤だが、変更することもできる。この写真をアップして flickr のBG color が black ではなく deep gray だと知った。
This is currently my favorite photo equipment. The Canon 5D classic with a 24-105L lens. This is a versatile combination and produces excellent image quality while keeping the weight of my equipment somewhat manageable.

A gabion is a wire basket filled with earth, or stones, or rocks, used for embankment work, etc, in fortification and engineering.
Processed in Picasa with the Neon effect, and changed the hue.
A creative shot of a golden mushroom with neon-like colors added, giving it a unique and eye-catching look.
The performance of the Canon 28-135 IS lens is excellent at the 28mm used here but not really good at the longer focal lengths and best avoided at 35 mm for apertures wider than f11.
I needed an embeddable version of this image outside of the control of my lighroom library. My usual solution for this is to do a minor edit in picnik and save the result as a new file that hopefully never gets modified again.
.....To the darkness of the tavern
I come to watch you sing
In the stench and smoke you sit
so oblivious to everything
Your mind takes me to travel
to a place so far from here
and your voice becomes electric
in that state which knows no fear
You play the songs of courage
The theme is most the same
You come to lift the spirit
Though we cling to our pain
You light up like an angel
in that dream that’s yours alone
yet the fire of it burns me
as if it were my own.

Those 3 young girls look much nicer in an image with regular processing. The neon effect rarely if ever works for photos of peoples faces.
