Tried Gorman-Holbert conversion method after Knowsnotmuch pointed me to it. I kept experimenting and this is the outcome. "I can't retrace my steps now!"

Inspired by the new movie Alien: Covenant I built this small display to show my latest Kitbashes – and of course my first Neomorph-design. I loved the little white devils in this cornfield attack and would assess them even more scary than the oroginal Xenomorph because of their speed and nimbleness.
The full frontal shot of my simple Neomorph-Design. I need to get more white and whiteish parts to do some improvements. However, for the attack scene's requirements the Neo prooved just perfect, with enough joints to get the sneaky look and dimensions.

When the android David experiments with alien life, he creates the Neomorph. This build is from the film, "Alien: Covenant."
Also currently in the works (although not all will be printed), are Kenobi, Samurai Jack, Doctor Who and a bunch of alien figs including the Xenomorph, (prometheus') Elizabeth Shaw, (covenants') Neomorph and David
Watched the Alien franchise and became a little inspired. Took the Funko Pop’s and the camera equipment out and went to town :)
Sculpt update on the Egg Morpher or Praetorian Xenomorph - 1:18 scale - Aliens: Defiance, Dark Horse Comics. Completed phase 1 of the head sculpt, next step will be making a mold, then sculpting the variations of the mouth...that's if the mold and castings come out! :) Began building the upper torso of the figure (update coming soon). I've been trying to get Ash to bed but he's all wired.....(rolls eyes), bad joke..very bad. Anyway, build progress on Ash- Sleep Chamber variant - ALIEN 79, 1:18 scale.
I sculpted an articulated version of the Facehugger Kane figure over a year ago before deciding it would become a static piece. I then made a mold of that body knowing that I could use it for various projects, mainly the sleep chamber versions of the male characters. I've already created a variant for Kane. Next one up is Ash.
Made a cast of the body and broke the piece up at their articulation points. I've wired the pieces together to help form an idea how the figure will fit into the chamber bed, which requires some adjustments as well. The next step will be to bring the pieces together as a seamless figure with no articulation points present. Looks a bit out of proportion now but that will all change. The chamber's bedding will also be sculpted over to fit the figure and hold in place.
The next figure to get the sleep treatment will be Lambert (moving counter clockwise) - still deciding if the females should be topless or use the small band that went across their chest (kinda silly in the reference images if you ask me). Build status on the Protomorph (Xeno) - Alien: Covenant - 1:18 scale. Textured the acrylic dome using rough to fine sanding pads. When painted, this will give the dome an organic look. Sculpted hips and began working the upper arms.
Realized I need to thin out the lower back a bit and complete some detail just behind the shoulders before I can replicate (mold/cast) and head on to the next stage. Loving the elongated arms of this beast....
At this point with the project, I have pretty much caught up to the point where I left off with the Covenant Xenomorph, Neomorph and Defiance Praetorian - arms and legs. So expect a variety of updates, not JUST the Newborn from this point forward.

Usually the first attempt at a new alien dome would require at least one adjustment so that the dome "snaps" into place....This time though, success straight from the gate!!! This dome snaps perfectly onto the alien head and hugs the contours just underneath.
Images you see here are of both the master sculpt and initial cast with domes attached. I increase the tones in the images so you can see the shell of the clear dome.

At that point, I can take a couple quality casts and mod the sculpt to create the other two variants. Sculpt progress on the Xenomorph - ALIEN: Covenant - 1:18 scale. Had time to work on the Xenomorph head sculpt a bit - close to completion, at least this phase. The next step will be to sculpt the jaw separately (you'll see the frame for the jaw I'm sculpting in a couple images posted). I also will begin building a buck for forming the clear dome that -hopefully- will snap on and off the finished head sculpt when complete. I was successful with the 79 beast so fingers crossed it will happen again. Tabled for a few weeks while I got started on a few others projects but back at it over the weekend focusing on the mouth. I have mentioned that I plan to do variants of this head sculpt (open mouth, closed, concept etc) and decided it would be easier to build the variants if I was to sculpt the open mouth first than to try to do it vice-versa.
Sculpt is based on concept art by Colvin Shulver. Find his work on ArtStation. www.artstation.com/artwork/bxJYo as well as the build work from Odd Studio
First was to drill and clear out a cavity for the mouth's opening, then build up the mandible, allow to cure, then the tongue and upper jaw.
Using Aves FIXIT for the build (Aves Studio LLC). Added a dime to give a sense of scale for the piece. The teeth are still being refined. I hope to have the head sculpted and reduce the ear openings a bit on my next go.
