Before our flight back to Europe, we spent a few days in Negombo, where Sri Lanka's international airport is located. There is a large lagoon on the shore of which we marvelled at the sunset. I took the shot with too low a shutter speed to capture the sun even redder and to wrap the surroundings in darkness. For this minimalist image, I just took the sun and the faint reflection on the water, put a scrawny tree in front of the sun and the scene against a black background.
Once again, a picture from Sri Lanka last spring. Now that it is autumn, we would be getting ready to move there again to spend the winter. Maybe we will make an exception this time.
Négombo (Sri Lanka) - Les rives de la lagune de Négombo sont habitées par gens aux revenus modestes. Certains ont un travail en la ville, ou élèvent des volailles qu’ils vendent sur les marchés, mais tous pratiquent la pêche pour améliorer leur ordinaire. Les eaux de la lagune sont très poissonneuses grâce à un canal donnant accès à la mer.
Negombo Lagoon
Negombo (Sri Lanka) - The shores of the Negombo lagoon are inhabited by people of modest incomes. Some have jobs in the city, or raise poultry to sell in markets, but all fish to improve their ordinary life. The waters of the lagoon are full of fish thanks to a channel giving access to the sea.
