Before our flight back to Europe, we spent a few days in Negombo, where Sri Lanka's international airport is located. There is a large lagoon on the shore of which we marvelled at the sunset. I took the shot with too low a shutter speed to capture the sun even redder and to wrap the surroundings in darkness. For this minimalist image, I just took the sun and the faint reflection on the water, put a scrawny tree in front of the sun and the scene against a black background.
Once again, a picture from Sri Lanka last spring. Now that it is autumn, we would be getting ready to move there again to spend the winter. Maybe we will make an exception this time.

Negombo (Sri Lanka) - Scene taken a few years before the ecological disaster which permanently polluted the Negombo coastline. In May 2021, an Indonesian container ship sank off the coast, polluting the waters and beaches, over 80 km, with chemicals, hydrocarbons and 78 tons of polyethylene granules. Fishing has since resumed, but we still do not know the health consequences for those who consume fish from this region.
