This is my desk. Usually there are a few rogue bits of paper, or a book or two, but in general I try to keep it quite minimal. Laptop and phone, what more could you want?
The need : cleaning and hygiene products, text books for english classes, medical supplies (vitamin C soluble), educational material, dvds, children's underwear (age 3-16 boys and girls), white board markers, hewitt packard colour laser jet 1600 colour printer cartridges (colors + b&w), computer teacher, centre manager
The action : offering street kids of Siem Reap Cambodia a safe place to eat, wash, learn and play

so i'm back home! i need to take pictures because wow. im getting desperate. i want to do some traditional stuff too. but. this shot is something i really like.
i think ive peaked. i am so out of practice from bothing taking pictures and editing. i think im out of ideas. i need to do something. i just want to hit my flow so frickin bad, but just looking at my past (i visited my old high school) made me realize that my talent was at least a bit behind me. lets hope i drop that soon.
i've had it with this headache.
i've had it with this heat, already.
i've had it with pain.
i've had it with things that keep breaking, ipods, laptops, cameras, bones.
i've had it with my still-healing, overly-scarred, already-fading tattoo.
i've had it with fear.
and here's the kicker.
all the right things, i tell myself daily:
it'lll get better.
it's cyclical.
just ride it out.
don't give up.
the tat can get retouched.
it's ok.
funny thing, depression.
how you can know all these things to be true,
and yet you sit there regardless in your squeaking office chair
numb as driftwood,
drifting.
wanting.
needing.
hating yourself for the drifting, the wanting, the needing,
cradling the ball of self-pitying angst in your belly
like a baby bird,
feeding it worms and chocolate
instead of starving it.
why?
because it's what you know.
even though you also know
what you should do
is kick it out of the nest
and watch it die.
so instead i get up. i take the excedrin. i eat a bowl of cereal. i put the camera on the tripod. i cut the new shade to size. i vaccuum. i do the dishes. i go to the store. i feed the cats. i water the flowers. i wash myself. i eat a sandwich. i make up the guest bed for pappas. i take a stronger headache pill. i nap. i eat dinner. i go to bed.

I needed a small press for a special operation, and an arbor press seemed like overkill for what I needed. I drew up these mating tools and uploaded STEP files to ShapeWays.com... designed to fit in a watch-case press. The parts, 3D printed in steel, arrived in a couple of weeks. I had left pretty tight clearances in the area where the tools guide themselves together for alignment, so I had to do a little hand filing in that area to make them fit - maybe ten minutes there. The two tools cost about $150 each, so it's not super cheap - but getting something like this machined would be more expensive and slower. The blue press itself is maybe $20 at Harbor Freight.

Needed to have something well-lit tonight. Not sure why exactly, but I walked the line with this one...
I went to Burger King for lunch. While ordering there was this guy who was staring at me. I don't know why, I don't know if he was staring at me or past me but it was just freaking me out. There aren't that many fast food joints next to my office. There is a Burger King, Pizza Hut, KFC and a Mc Donalds, although Mc Donalds is like a 20 minute walk away. There are tons of Indian and Chinese restaurants though and one day when I get the balls I will try one of them.
