WIT: First I managed to expose for a black background. I needed a long exposure, something in between 3 and 4 seconds, enough to allow a little light painting. So I mounted a ND8 filter at f/8 and ISO50. That gave me enough "darkness". Then I added the flashlight. One Canon 430 EX II at full power shot through a white umbrella from left and pointing straight to my face.
I used the remote control to shoot so I could take many pictures without changing my position very much. All the rest was trying to draw something nice.

Sadly, North Rail's empty tanker train from Siilinjärvi got stuck on a hill, and the train was forced to go back to Kuopio yard, where it stayed overnight. On the next day, another class Dr20 diesel electric locomotive, came to help as its brother is needing a hand to return back to the home yard.

I couldn't pass this guy up holding a "Need a Little Love" sign. He agreed to pose for me so I gave him some green love afterward. Super nice and grateful gentleman.
After spending the week working off Margam, MPV DR989812 is hauled by 66117 from Margam - Kings Norton for repair as 3Z16 07:29 Margam - Kings Norton OTP Depot on 20/5/2021.
A defective Track Circuit Actuator was the reason for the provision of the 66.

First outside outing with a collapsible Industar 10 (FED10) 50mm f3.5. This shot taken wide open about a metre from the hydrant. Focusing relied on the Sony's focus peaking in live view. Colour and contrast tweaking in post but no applied sharpening.

i got my 1st tattoo on my 21st birthday
This beautiful young lady is my cousin, Lisa, who I photographed a few months ago.
Lisa is a professional actress, singer and dancer, and is currently appearing in the Cologne production of the hit show, 'We Will Rock You'.
This session came about because Lisa needed some new head shots for professional purposes. When I spoke to her a few days before we did the shoot, she said: "There's just one thing Kenny...I don't like being photographed!". Whit? Jings, crivens and help mah boab!
Happily, we managed to overcome her aversion to cameras and Lisa was an absolute delight to photograph. I look forward to her (inevitable...after all...she's a Mathieson! ) starring roles in London's West End and on Broadway...at which point I'll obviously be hoping for the gig as her official photographer. What can possibly go wrong? ;-)
