I'd posted this piece before but, felt that it needed to be photographed while worn, to show it in its best light. So, my friend Andie, modeled for me and I love how it looks on her.
This piece was the result of experimenting with one shape of a copper link. On each half of the necklace, there are graduated copper links - each one slightly smaller (or larger - depending on the direction) than the one before. The center pendant is a prong set rutilated quartz. Each link is forged at the ends, rolled, curved and then the curve was hammered. Links are connected by 14g copper jump rings.
Colorful beaded necklace.
Random seed beads and trade beads.
Necklace part is modified daisy chain, netting part is my own experimental pattern.

Necklace ideas for the 2014 IPCA retreat workshop "Fauxnomenal elements for jewelry" August 19 in Dublin Ohio. full day class, three stand alone techniques. Students choose their own project.
Created for the PCAGOE June 2013 challenge theme of the Elements. This pendant was created by painting the colors in ink on 2 pieces of translucent clay and locking the color on the inside of the 2 pieces. The strip was then shaped in an organic ribbon type form. The "embers" streaming out of the top of the flame were created by coating beadalon cable wire with liquid polymer. The pendant is hung asymmetrically from a strand of clear glass beads with single red and orange glass beads interspersed to add to the look of flying embers of a flame. Sharon of Livewire Jewelry designed this lovely creation. She used my beads! I blogged about it here: doreenwilley.blogspot.com/2009/04/birds-and-beads-oh-my.html
I used burgundy Swarovski crystal pearls, Swarovski Xilion bicones "Fuchsia AB2X", pink seed beads, and the technique of shuttle tatting. The thread is Lizbeth cotton size 20 in burgundy.
This is made from vintage chain, Green Forrest Jade and Sesame Jasper. It's much prettier in person its kind of shines.
Yummy strawberry is so cute. This felt strawberry charm is lightweight and it hangs on a genuine leather 1.5mm Cord with Extending Chain. Hand sewn with love and care. A little gold color bell adds to the charm!
