Jaisalmer is absolutely full of tourist shops selling all the usual tat, plus a few things that are just a bit different. But despite this, I found it a rather lovely town with no hassle and genuinely friendly people - including the bookshop owner who recommended me a little restaurant outside the town gate from Gandhi Chowk (near the bus stand), where I had a great Rajasthani thali with namkeen and sweets for just 100 rupees.
