2011 audit trip to Yangon, Myanmar. Pictures uploaded in verbatim, havent modified nor sorted. The highlight of this trip must be the people are so friendly. You can see many old trucks, busses, cars, even locomotive still in use. Passing by and seeing the gates to the residence of Aung San Suu Kyi was quite emotional for me. We also drove past the NLD's headquarters. She is an inspirition! There are also thousands of British Colonial buildings. I hope the government preserves them as a heritage

At a well-attended meeting of the new Northern Ireland Telecom branch of the CWU the members adopted a new amended branch constitution. The meeting was chaired by John East, National Organiser, who introduced Andy Kerr, Deputy General Secretary (telecoms), who spoke on topical issues for the union and its members. After a brief discussion on the future of the union, Davie Bowman Assistant Secretary with responsibility for BT Ireland spoke about new work practices and negotiations to improved information and the monitoring of new working practices. The new branch officers John McLaughlin, chair, Andy Gibb, Secretary, Kevin McCaffery, financial secretary, Pauline Breem and Equality Officer Leo Vanes, political officer were introduced to the meeting and each were given 5 min to speak about their vision for the new branch with the exception of Padraig Mackel, Youth Officer who sent apologies.
