Jamie getting ready to whack a cinder block on Adam's stomach while he lay on a bed of nails

A visit to the MIT Flea Market is rarely complete unless you've encountered a part that you think you've seen on TV, as part of a build on either "Mythbusters" or "Junkyard Wars."

We saw the MythBusters on tour in Seattle today. We had fabulous seats in the front row of the balcony. Adam and Jamie put on a great show, and they were very nice to all of their slobbering fans. It was basically a "getting to know Adam and Jamie" type deal. They discussed what it was like to be Mythbusters, how they got their start, what their favorite episodes were, etc. They also answered questions from the audience, which was ok considering we went to the afternoon show, so about 80% of the people asking questions were 10 year old babblers.

"Mythbusters" last week sealed it...I had to try it.

4 mint Mentos + One 2-Liter = Very fun, if very short.

We decided to replicate the Mythbusters experiment of dropping five metos candies into a 2-litre of diet coke...it was a major success.

May 20, 2006: Mythbusters appearance at the Pabst Theater.

Adam is rebooting his Powerbook to show us a blooper reel. I LOVED that R2D2 was his background image!

That tackle box organizer is actually from another project I came up with, Make a Solderless Breadboard Carrier.

Note that Jamie's face is never blurry because it wasn't moving. Adam, on the other hand...

MythBusters @ the Harris Theatre

When Jamie Hyneman and Adam Savage of the Mythbusters TV show came to Michigan Tech, I got them to autograph my hacked CVS "disposable" video camera. They were both very friendly, and even complimented my work on the camera!

The Museum of Science and Industry had a Mythbusters exhibit when Annie and I went. Of course we had to check that out. They had some demonstrations, myths that one could "bust" and such, but the coolest bit for me was seeing props from the show. These are the real items that the Mythbusters team created in the course of their efforts!

Myth: Airline coffee is drinkable.

This myth is so busted! The picture speaks volumes :-D

I asked to take a picture with this person in a great No Face costume from Spirited Away only to find out later that it was Adam Savage of Mythbusters (see next picture). Each year he wears a costume so he can walk the convention floor unbothered by fans and he reveals his costume later at the Mythbusters panel.

Mythbuster: taking a bath or shower during an electrical storm is deadly. For real! My neighbor on the 1st floor, one of the girls, was about to dip into a bath and saw it spark up blue.
