A visit to the MIT Flea Market is rarely complete unless you've encountered a part that you think you've seen on TV, as part of a build on either "Mythbusters" or "Junkyard Wars."
Stars from Discovery Channel's hit show Mythbusters Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman host Jamie and Adam Unleashed, a show celebrating the pairs 14 years on the show. The performance took place Nov. 30 in the Stephens Auditorium.
August 14, 2014: "Test out myths, including breaking an eggshell in the palm of your hand, whether heads or tails wins more coin tosses, pulling apart two interlaced phone books, pulling a dollar bill out from under a bottle without touching it, and whether or not butter toast always fall face down."
We saw the MythBusters on tour in Seattle today. We had fabulous seats in the front row of the balcony. Adam and Jamie put on a great show, and they were very nice to all of their slobbering fans. It was basically a "getting to know Adam and Jamie" type deal. They discussed what it was like to be Mythbusters, how they got their start, what their favorite episodes were, etc. They also answered questions from the audience, which was ok considering we went to the afternoon show, so about 80% of the people asking questions were 10 year old babblers.
"Mythbusters" last week sealed it...I had to try it.

Adam is rebooting his Powerbook to show us a blooper reel. I LOVED that R2D2 was his background image!

When Jamie Hyneman and Adam Savage of the Mythbusters TV show came to Michigan Tech, I got them to autograph my hacked CVS "disposable" video camera. They were both very friendly, and even complimented my work on the camera!
The Museum of Science and Industry had a Mythbusters exhibit when Annie and I went. Of course we had to check that out. They had some demonstrations, myths that one could "bust" and such, but the coolest bit for me was seeing props from the show. These are the real items that the Mythbusters team created in the course of their efforts!
