pace university is the college that i currently attend

In addition to the races and the jump ropes, each grade had a game. The 3rd graders ran around in hula hoops, the 5th graders had to keep a giant ball aloft and the 4th graders played a version of a pinata. Two buckets were taped together and suspended on a pole over a group of 4th graders, who threw bean bags at the buckets until they broke apart. I love the teachers holding the poles cowering from the bean bag assault.

The student body was divided into two teams for Sports Day: White Team and Blue Team. The two teams were distinguished by colored arm bands (this is the blue team) and competed for the Sports Day trophy.

Blogged about here.

In addition to the races, all the grades had a jump rope activity. The kids have been walking around the school holding jump ropes or belting them around their waists all semester.

My 5-1 girls like to visit my office after music class for a brief chat on their way back to their classroom. The hats are left over from winter camp. They're holding danso, which is similar to a recorder, both in shape and in that children learn how to play them in elementary school. Man, I'm going to miss these kids.

The last event was a school wide relay. The eight fastest students from each grade (one boy and one girl from each class) formed four teams. The girl teams battled each other and the boy teams battled each other.

They performed a dance to the song "Dokdo is Our Land". Dokdo is a small island in the East Sea that Korea and Japan both claim. The Koreans feel STRONGLY that it is Korean territory.

Sports Day started with the entire student body performing synchronized calisthenics in the sand courtyard in front of the school. These are the fifth graders.

Self explanatory. To import any drugs (there is a very large excluded list, such as all nasal sprays and Viagra) for a period over 30 days, a permit must be applied for. This applies to everyone, including Japanese citizens.

This is the letter of permission.

The kindergarteners dressed up like the Korean flag. Is that not the cutest thing you've ever seen?

5-4 class girls posing in their hanboks before the Buchaechum. I didn't realize they were going to be dressed in their own hanboks and I made a fool of myself cooing over how pretty they were.
