Looking under the timer you will see the cocking arm. My MX jammed as I played around with the shutter.
Status:
1. The cocked indicator was still showing and can not advance film lever.
2. Feeling nothing is connecting when the release was pressed.
3. Mirror is down and not stuck.
4. I recalled a weird drop of tension while cocking the shutter.
Fix:
Removing the three little screws then lifting bottom cover away and looking around, I noticed the actuator was in the wrong place. I've removed the slow speed assembly to give a better look.
Oh, forgot to mention that this happens to my MX about twice a year... in winter... hmmm... metal contracting?
