These guys roll their carts into the main squares of Leh in the afternoon with a bagful of marinated mutton chunks. The kabobs are placed directly on the charcoals while the chef wafts the flame with a newspaper. Most of the mutton kabob men are Kashmiri, and they, along with many shop owners, come in droves from nearby Srinagar, Kashmir for summer tourist traffic in Ladakh. Two kabobs set me back 20 rupees, or about 40 cents.
Galway from the Mutton Island causeway. The island hosts Galway's sewage treatment plant, but the road out to it is open to the public as a walkway. There were signs warning of high surf on stormy days. I had a hard time believing the signs becuase the causeway was 8-12ft above the tide. But, there was seaweed littered on the road so, the water must actually rise high enough to spill over the causeway at times.

Wave action over millenia has carved the coast here to form all manner of arches and pillars, making it one of the most spectacular sights anywhere.
Didn't see any Mutton Birds, aka Shearwaters, but there were a number of Corellas apparently digging nests on the rock faces. Never thought of the Corella as a seabird.
