Gost jo Bor-u (Sindhi mutton curry)
meat is called Gost in pure Sindhi, however some people have started calling it gosht...mutton is a staple of Sindhi cuisine and the mutton curry is made with aromatic but mild spices unlike the Indian version which uses heavy spices such as garam masala and tons of cumin and tons of coriander making a non South Asian cringe with discomfort. Sindhi mutton curry is mild and makes a hearty meal. Here it is served with a rice dessert of Taahri (Sindhi sweet rice),
This was the meal that we had at the funeral that we "witnessed." We had rice, mutton, salted vegetables and radish.
We ate with our bare hands off plates made of dried leaves. We thought it most interesting, despite the fact that this was a solemn event.
