After taking a ton of pictures at the Mutton & Mead Medieval Festival in Montague, MA Yesterday I was stumped as to what to post, so I decided people are what these fairs are all about, so I am posting characters viewed at the faire.

When cut and wrapped in saran, it is easy to forget what we are eating. This picture reminds us of where meat comes from. While I am not a vegetarian, I respect those who are willing to refrain from killing animals.
Disappointment is when you realize that aroma of mutton biryani is not from your home :(

We are a lamb-exporting country but the prohibitive cost on the local market has resulted in hardly any on supermarket and butcher shops. (That's what you get when profit-driven corporations handle the industry!)
The good news is that we are slowly seeing a return of the old family favourite - mutton. So, it takes a little longer to cook, but in my books, it has a better flavour than lamb. This tray-full cost $NZ33 at Aussie Butcher. At the same time, I saw in a supermarket, a tray of six small lamb chops, cost: $20. Go figure!
She was strutting through Valletta like a catwalk model. She must have got her trousers from Rod Stewart's wardrobe.
From the front she looked like Dot Cotton,but I didn't want to chase after her for a frontal shot.
Mutton bird or titi is a seabird and one of traditional food source of the Maori. These young birds are usually preserved in their own fats or brined.
