went "Indian" at the Black Tent near the hostel. The curry was rather sweet with pineapple added, not very spicy and the sauce fairly thin - I have reinforce my view that the only cuisine worth trying in China is Chinese. The pan fried bread was good, but the Chinese do that anyway.

Not much of a mutton chop since my cheeks are so bare, but the best I can do.

It's the new lamb!

Portobello mushroom, boiled spuds with butter and chives and parsley, spinach with a drizzle of lemon juice, and the mutton, grilled with garlic and freshly picked tips of rosemary. All as organic as can be.

the food I had for dinner; put the muttons on the pan without any oil but some house wine, healthy and tasty; with one cup of good red wine while eating it is quite a joy.

We are a lamb-exporting country but the prohibitive cost on the local market has resulted in hardly any on supermarket and butcher shops. (That's what you get when profit-driven corporations handle the industry!)

The good news is that we are slowly seeing a return of the old family favourite - mutton. So, it takes a little longer to cook, but in my books, it has a better flavour than lamb. This tray-full cost $NZ33 at Aussie Butcher. At the same time, I saw in a supermarket, a tray of six small lamb chops, cost: $20. Go figure!
