My Mum thinks if my sister puts 90 candles on her cake next year she's going to need help blowing them out!!

Mum had Five Ducklings. 75mm above the river and a 500mm lens attached. 😨

These lovely dark fuchsia mums always bloom very late in the season in my garden. This is a small plant that produces fairly small flowers, but the color is just striking. And when set against the green of the rest of the garden, its just wonderful.

The Tokina AT-X Macro 90mm f2.5 "Bokina" is living up to its nickname here!

I also used an indirect flash set to a fill-in sort of setting to make the colors pop on a rather dreary day in the yard. Its been a while since using fill-flash for any of my shots.

July 15th 1961 mum and dad married at St James Church, Chapelthorpe. 60 years on the are doing really well, having supported three children and six grandchildren. Unusual in todays society they still live on the same road as they did when first married. They have set a cracking example with the way they have loved and cared for one and other and like many couples they have suffered life changing events, most notably when dad broke his back in an industrial injury in 1969. Mum has constantly been there for dad and dad somehow hasn't grumbled at all over the ever present after effects of that dark day.

This photo was taken last Sunday at a small family gathering at my brothers, which incidentally was where dad lived during his teenage years.

Playing around with textures again on this little mum in a small vase... I believe I used seven textures, all from skeletal mess.

Actually, this doesn't look like any other Mum we possess, but that's what the sticker says, so I'm sticking with it.

As an aside, I think my neighbors think I'm very strange, running around the yard with a camera, getting very close to things.

This is my mum's thimble; it was rarely off her finger

I love that my Mom is standing under the mums sign :-)

We have now entered my favorite time of year.

ODT - Body Lines

when i first left college in 2000 i moved in with my mum for a while it was grate cos we went swimming in the sea every day some time 2x a day because the front door was only 30 sec from the water!

I love Mums right before they open.

I took this photo last year, thinking I could include it in the Selfie Sunday group, but it's taken me this long to find it and upload it to Flickr! This is one of JJ's and my walks to my Mum's house for lunch and a cuppa or two. It's a typical scene of us relaxing (and you can see me in the mirror!)

Today it's my Mum's birthday, so I will try and get a better photo of her when we visit her for lunch! Happy Sunday, everyone! ^_^

20th January

On Saturday evening we went to a local Italian restaurant to celebrate with her.

In the balloon you can see a reflection of my sister (Frances), me & Tracey, my brother in law (Alan), and my sister (Sharon).

We had a great time, and my mum enjoyed.

The Humber has a large breeding colony of grey seals at Donna Nook, Lincolnshire. Grey seals are amongst the rarest seals in the world and the UK population represents about 40% of the world population and 95% of the EU population.

Yesterday we took a trip up to Donna Nook to the seal breeding grounds. The females having been coming ashore for only 2 to 3 weeks but there have already been 200 pups born. In another 3 weeks it will be "wall-to-wall" seals and will total in the region of 3,000.

We missed this little one being born by about 5 minutes, and this is one of several images I took of Mum and baby, which at this time was less than 10 minutes old. I hope to make another trip there soon.

Taken with my Canon Telephoto Zoom 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS USM EF Lens and apart from being framed in Photoshop, is SOOC.

Mum loves coming over and having a cup of tea on the weekends.

Just before I shot this she was making a fuss about having a camera pointed at her but must have forgotten after a little while.

First stop after meeting Toot at the station was to call in to my Mum's house for a cuppa - they had plenty to talk about, and Toot's Navy days were fascinating!
