On Wednesday 20th February I had the heartbreak of watching my mum pass away, the grief has been unbearable at times since, but as always my friends have rallied around. Great friend Mark sacrificed hours of sleep to drive some 130 miles on Sunday morning to pick me up and take me along to the Peak district for sunrise for a much need moment of distraction from all the sorrow.
We were treated to a sublime misty sunrise at Chrome hill and I would like to think this was a gift from mum.
R.I.P Mum.

I have been doing curb pickup at the grocery store. This week on went my mask and I went in the store and bought my own groceries. LOVED IT right down to the beautiful pot of Purple Mums I purchased.
The golden colour of these chrysanthemums reminds me of fall and speaking of fall, this weekend is Canadian Thanksgiving weekend.
Happy Thanksgiving to my fellow Canadians! If you're travelling, stay safe and enjoy spending time with family and friends.
Thank you for your visit and comment, it's greatly appreciated. Have a great weekend!
Nice to watch the interactions between a family of 4 Roe Deer, but it was sad to see the mum with a badly mangled leg...Musselburgh Lagoons

Rich is my Mum's guard. He was a tiny puppy when my Son rescued him from sending to Sailors Academy. Noone wanted take him home as he was mixed breed and in addition one eye was brown and other was blue. My Son took him to the countryside where my Mum and Sister live and told them puppy's story. Sister is a nurse and she is away all day, the same Sister's Husband- that time he still worked as mechanic in a bus park. And then my Mum said: I will take care of him....
This friendship lasts until this day. Rich now is my Mum's guard❤️

My mum hated being photographed but could not escape the cameras for her big 80th Birthday 4 years ago. I took this just before we went to join a big family restaurant dinner.
Mum's health had deteriorated rapidly over the past year or so but her passing is, as far as we know, unrelated. It is sudden and unexpected. She was found collapsed at home two days ago and has been treated for sepsis in the hospital resus department until she passed peacefully last night.
Being 300 miles away and due to the pandemic and me being very ill myself at the moment, I haven't been able to see my mum. In fact I haven't seen her for 2 1/2 years thanks to Covid. I spoke with her twice a week for the whole pandemic up until the last few months where it has been just once a week. Last time I spoke she was fine - well, no more unwell than usual.
I have sobbed these past two days but at the moment I am numb. Completely shocked. Empty. I'm not sure if I will take a Flickr break or if I will keep up the routine. I am not sure of anything.
I thank you all for your support and understanding. Please keep your loved ones close and your dearest loved ones even closer.
Planted by Mum the year before she passed away. Every year, when it flowers, it gives me lovely warm memories. Not sure what it’s called but it’s a climber and smells absolutely gorgeous.
Thanks for viewing 😀💕
This bloom reminds me of a large daisy, but it's a fall-blooming chrysanthemum.
Thank you for viewing this image and for leaving me a comment!
A bird that is very difficult to spot amongst the pebbles until it moves is the ringed plover.
Fortunately mum was busy trying to distract me whilst this little fella did it's best to hide

As I look outside I see a lot and I mean A LOT of snow....with more to come; I have more winter shots to post, but still need to deal with color right now, hence.....flowers.....a mum to be exact.
....One of Picnik's textures used lightly...I've not used textures before and have several contacts who do so regularly....and beautifully I might add.
So I'm sampling something new...
A very Happy Monday to you, hoping it goes well for you and of course....I'm happy you stopped by.....coffee pot is perking for you. ♡
