Ideum created a custom multitouch table with a one-of-a-kind finish that matches the style of Washington’s era. A powder coated brass finish was applied to the 55” display frame along with a hydro-dipped faux wood grain application to the base.

A new dedicated industrial design space for exhibit design and the continuing development of our line of multitouch tables and touch walls.

The all new Pro and Platform touch tables by Ideum. A pair of powerful 55" LED LCD HD multitouch tables that support up to 40 touch points. The Pro and the Platform are the world's thinnest multitouch screens, just 2 inches thin. Learn more at: ideum.com/multitouch

A view inside the 100" multitouch, multiuser exhibit table developed by Ideum for Adventure Science Center in Nashville, Tennessee. The table has two computers and projectors and a contiguous surface that allows several people to interact simultaneously with the same program. The table uses infrared LEDs and infrared cameras to track multiple points of input.

With a 100" surface and an 86" viewable area is it among one of the largest contiguous multitouch tables ever developed. The screen has a 16 x 5 ratio aspect and a 2304 x 800 pixel, high-resolution screen.

The exhibit explores the electromagnetic spectrum. The extended aspect ratio mimics the spectrum itself, from radio waves to gamma rays. Visitors can then move images across the table and see how they are imaged in each waveform.

The exhibit displays a variety of celestial and terrestrial images in a variety of wavelengths. For example, NASA images of the sun can be seen in all wavelengths. Common and iconic objects were photographed in a variety of wavelengths. For example, a birthday cake with lit candles, a toy robot, an alarm clock, and even a hand holding an iPhone are seen in visible, infrared, ultraviolet, and x-ray.

The haptic tempered glass and aluminum and steel construction make the table incredibly durable. Blue LED lighting makes the table stand out. It will be part of the Space Chase Gallery at the Adventure Science Center. This exhibit will be open to the public on November 7th. The table is based on Ideum's commercially available MT-50 multitouch table.

For the exhibit, we developed custom software which allows visitors to view both terrestrial and celestial objects across different wavelengths. The exhibit runs on an Ideum 100” dual 4K UHD Pano multitouch table. All of the content was developed specifically for the application. Ideum conducted a multispectral photo shoot for terrestrial objects and helped collect the latest celestial images. We worked with Science World in Vancouver to find appropriate images for the exhibit and collaborated on the content and text descriptions.

The 8K EM spectrum imaging exhibit will debut in the Eureka! Gallery at Science World at Telus World of Science in Vancouver in late February 2015. You can learn more about the Pano 100” multitouch table or the EM Spectrum exhibit on the Ideum website.

Ideum's Pro multitouch table can be custom configured to include three removable hard drives for a total of 6 terabytes of secure storage. A secondary DRW or Blue-ray writer can also be added. The amp, UPS, and Yahama speakers come standard. Note the secure bracing of the computer and all of peripherals.

We designed and manufactured four of these ultimate collaborative conference tables for our client in Chicago, IL. The quilted maple table features three embedded multitouch displays and several ports to connect peripheral devices.

Two 43” 4K Ultra HD multitouch displays and one 65” are embedded in the conference table top. Our Inline series displays are designed specifically to fit into the furniture and cabinetry.

The Inline displays use LG commercial 4K displays and 3M touch technology. Each display has its own custom PC, and there is also a BrightSign player that contains an introductory video. A Crestron panel and system allows those around the table to automatically switch the source from the table to display it on 3 x 3 video wall.

Throughout the experience, visitors to the JCB Lounge will have opportunities to access information about the wine they are drinking.

Ideum has collaborated with JCB to create an entirely new wine tasting experience for their Napa Valley tasting lounge. Guests gather around a custom Ideum Platform 55 multitouch table with a gold top and black crocodile-skin base. Then they are guided through a 45-minute tasting experience in which they can explore the inspiration for and information about the wines they taste. The table interacts directly with the wine glasses, which have conductive 3D-printed bases made by our partners at Graphene 3D.

Ideum collaborated with the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center (SLAC) to create a new application to orient visitors to their facilities. Up to 4 users access their own personal viewing windows that change size to make the best use of screen space. Windows, images, and videos resize dynamically throughout the interaction to optimize the experience for the current number of users.

The application will be displayed on an Ideum Platform 55 multitouch table with a 4K UHD display and projected capacitive touch.

In the application, visitors will learn about SLAC’s work onsite and around the world. The important research conducted at SLAC facilities is highlighted in stories, images, and videos.

Ideum sponsored Big Brothers and Big Sisters' Discovery Festival event in Albuquerque on November 13-14, 2015. Discovery Festival is an initiative focused on acquainting youth with STEM professions. Ideum not only sponsored the event, but our staff brought many of our interactives to share with the participants.

The Collection Viewer allows for omni-directional interaction. A small group of people can interact simultaneously, approaching the table from any direction. Media objects appear on in different places and orientations on the table randomly and will disappear if they are not interacted with. The exhibit is ever changing and never appears the same way twice, making the exhibit new and engaging on each visit.

One of the most exciting aspects of multitouch technology is that it can allow multiple visitors to interact simultaneously. Using Ideum's own CollectionViewer, Ideum created an application that allows multiple users to view connections between seemingly disparate media objects. These connections extend to the visitors, who may find the object they’re viewing connected to an object controlled by a stranger across the table, leading to social interactions as well as virtual ones.

CollectionViewer is a multitouch-enabled image and video application that includes collection information such as description, titles, copyright, and author information. Ideum worked closely with the Vancouver Aquarium to extend this application by developing a "relationship engine.” It effectively adds a visual "tether" line between media objects. For Vancouver Aquarium, this feature allows visitors to see connections between seemingly unrelated media objects. For example, satellite animations showing receding ice are connected to images of the wildlife affected.

This exhibit is part of Vancouver Aquarium's Canada's Arctic - In the Grip of Change exhibition.

Raise a glass to an innovative and refreshing approach to application development! Ideum's new Tangible Engine Media Creator makes it easy for designers with little or no programming experience to create nuanced and engaging mixed-reality applications using our proprietary object-recognition software.

When it's released this fall, the Media Creator will include New Mexico Beer Flight, a demo program illustrating creative options for building menus and windows and linking onscreen content with handheld objects. Placing glasses equipped with fiducial markers on the touch table calls up a fanciful history of New Mexico beers and ales, plus information on taste, ingredients, brewing processes, and food pairings. Having created a Tangible Engine-based wine tasting for JCB wines and a coffee tasting for Starbucks, a beer tasting seemed the perfect way to highlight the flexibility of the Media Creator. Programming has never been this straightforward, intuitive… or tasty!
