Here is the SOG being used to remove some door pins.

I end up having to remove a lot of doors to get things in and out of houses. The SOG is great for this as it has a supper grip!

A departure from a Multitool (can't find my Topeak Alien anywhere) with this Topeak 'Survival Gearbox'

I´m ready for traveling fully armed with pocket things!

Strobist info: one Metz 48 AF-1 on 1/16 power, from the left in handmade 15" softbox from just a few inches and from the other side silver reflective surface, Metz has been triggered via D90 commander (lovely precise CLS), built in flash not used.

If you are ever considering a multitool, I strongly recommend the Leatherman Crunch. It has way less tools than most of the others, but it is a vice-grip plier, which is outstanding. This thing solves "third hand" problems on the regular.

It's about finding something interesting in an ordinary place...

I've found it has little to do with the things you see

and everything to do with the way you see them." Thanks George…

You need to be a “complexity and systems thinker “ to get your head around all these….

I love multi-tools, and have quite a collection.

People collect 'em. I have to admit that I myself have more nifty multitools than I'll ever use.

The "must have" multi. Has everything you need less scissors.

(With apologies for the in-joke.)

The tools of the modder's trade:

Tinsnips

Needlenose Pliers

Wrench

Modular screwdriver

Leatherman

Nameless multitool with spring-backed pliers.

Actually, this is only a tenth of the tools of the modders trade, but these were the ones I used for most of this part of the project.

This was my first new pocketknife that my parent's bought me when I was 7 or 8. I used to take it on all my adventures.

Somewhere along the line it got superglue on one scale, which warped and popped off. I found it a few years ago, and then a couple of weeks ago, I was reading the SAK forums on Multitool.org and found a place to get replacement parts...so I decided to do a bit of restoration.

If you're seeing this, I trust you won't wreck the place... maybe.

At the front of the building we found another stairwell to the second floor which bypasses the various structural anomalies hidden beneath the carpet. At the top we came to a locked, yet pathetically-weak door that only required hacking at the veneer around the lock for 5 minutes with a cheap "Macys-gifts-for-people-you-hate" multitool that included a convenient sawblade.

The second floor of the Harmacy was home to many things... the first of which we are fairly certain was a temporary home for the Gary Housing Authority, and/or Department of Planning. Presently, the GHA's main office is headquartered in the Genesis Towers next door, which is the former Hotel Gary. I almost wonder if this was where they bunkered while the Hotel was being renovated in the 70s.
