Bastian multitasking in the snow last week. He had to watch the birds, while at the same time sharpening his claws...

I don't wanna be a tiger
Cause tigers play too rough
I don't wanna be a lion
Cause lions aren't the kind
You love enou-ou-ou-ough
During my trip to Venice and Grado I also visited this beautiful plaza in Triest. I like this small family, everyone doing something different. He pushes the pushchair, she observes the small dog and the boy looks at me :-)
This beautiful bull elephant was captured multitasking after a wonderful swim in the near by waterhole. He found a perfect tree to scratch himself but not only did he scratch himself but he also dusted himself to keep off anything that might bother him such as insects etc. Love these gentle giants and pray for their continued protection !!!
Wishing you a beautiful evening and a very blessed one too.

While cuddling with his mom on the soft, warm blanket, Ares still keeps a close eye on the garden!

MAKE ME SMILE – STEVE HARLEY & COCKNEY REBEL
A bono fide street photographer
took a picture of me
he couldn't wait to show the results
his smile was full of glee
I said it only fair then
to take his picture too
but I am just a point and shoot
one click and that will do
he was happy to oblige
his face was wreathed in smiles
he posed among the superheroes
he added to my golden miles
travelling is such fun and bliss
to meet all kinds of folks
life is a bowl of delicious cocktails
all stirred and mixed and sharing jokes
I never even asked his name
and he didn't ask for mine
we were both happy to be in this moment
sharing our love of photographic lines
we felt a kindred spirit and bathed
in a glowing instant friendship made
and just as suddenly as we had bonded
we parted ways and neither stayed
no backward glances
no fond farewells
but through our photographs
the memory dwells.

These monarchs wouldn't stop eating, even to mate, an efficiency I've yet to employ in my own personal life.
On the way back from our Swiss holiday last year, we had to stop for a picnic. I chose a spot near Frick, where we could sit quietly in the shade and where I could set up my tripod with camera. Armed with a remote and sandwich, I could enjoy a family lunch while also shooting some trains.
The last train we saw was headed by SBB Cargo Shadowpiercer 193 665.

Fuji X-Pro3 (mirror image). This shot was done whilst holding a daylight LED lamp just above my head. I was less interested in aesthetics (not much to see anyway) than in finding the right position of the light - a position that would enable me to capture best the moment of concentration when finding focus and releasing the shutter.
Not everyone's great at it, as exemplified by this Tricolored Heron who missed the catch.
Sorry guy, maybe next time!
One of two photos taken just after midnight, from my living room window in Toronto. Multi-tasking - talking on my iPhone and taking photos 😊
Thanks for visiting, enjoy today and every day, it is an honour to get older.
The elephant pees, poops, and covers his excrement with sand.
All in one go. All in the lovely African evening light.
