Here I am coming very close to being part of this historic place.
This is the site of the second electric powered lumber company in the United States which was just up the street from the first electric powered lumber company in the country! Which later would be named "Weyerhaeuser!"
The most interesting part of this huge property was the power station. I have been meaning to come here for years but fences, security cameras and guards have thwarted me at every turn. I finally got permission to fly this area and I felt honored to capture this piece of Washington history. The also marks the beginning of "Abandoned Mix Vol. 3"

The National Electric Fly-In was held June 21-23, 2013 at the International Aeromodeling Center. Ninety registered pilots enjoyed three days of electric airplane, helicopter, and multirotor flying, as well as Combat and Pylon Races and more than $1500 worth of raffle prizes. Proceeds from NEFI benefit the Animal Rescue Fund (ARF), National Model Aviation Museum, and the Scott Davis Memorial Fund.
