Meistens verwende ich den Stand-PC, aber gelegentlich muss ich raus zum Kunden und brauche dann einen tragbaren PC, der doch ein bisschen mehr können muss als die allerkleinsten Netbooks.
Daher war ich auf der Suche nach einem leichten Gerät, das die übliche Bildschirmauflösung von 1366x768 hat und nicht viel kostet. Die Akkulaufzeit spielt für mich keine große Rolle, und die spiegelnden Displays wird man in dieser Preisklasse ohnehin kaum vermeiden können. Da ich das Gerät unter Linux betreibe, geht mir das nicht vorhandene Windows nicht ab und ich bin freue mich über den günstigen Preis, der mit Window-Lizenz wohl nicht möglich gewesen wäre.
Die Installation von Lubuntu 12.10 mittels USB-Stick verlief schnell und problemlos. Den fehlenden LAN-Adapter habe ich durch einen billigen USB-LAN-Adapter ersetzt. Allerdings ist zu bedenken, dass das Gerät nur zwei USB-Ports hat und man daher ohne USB-Hub nicht gleichzeitig externe Tastatur, Maus und LAN anschließen kann. Daher gleich einen USB-Hub einplanen. Auch eine externe Maus ist empfehlenswert, das Touchpad reagiert etwas nervös. Die Tastatur ist hingegen absolut brauchbar. Von Haus aus sind die Funktionstasten F1-F12 nur über die Fn-Taste erreichbar, weil diese Tasten mit den üblichen Multimedia-Tasten (lauter, leiser, heller, dunkler...) doppelbelegt sind, aber das kann man im BIOS umstellen; dann sind (wie man es vielleicht von anderen Notebooks gewohnt ist) die Multimediafunktionen nur über die Fn-Taste erreichbar, und die Funktionstasten funktionieren wie gewohnt.
Um den Sound zum Laufen zu bringen, ist ein kleines bisschen Frickelei nötig: in /usr/share/alsa/also.conf alle Vorkommen von "card 0" durch "card 1" ersetzen, denn Lubuntu findet zwei Karten, von denen die erste die Sound-Ausgabe über HDMI ist und die zweite die eingebaute Soundkarte, die an den Lautsprechern hängt. Von diesem Problemchen abgesehen gibt es keine Treiber-Schwierigkeiten; die proprietären Treiber für die AMD-Grafikkarte und den Broadcom-WLAN-Adapter bietet Lubuntu von sich aus zur Installation an.
Optisch macht das Gerät einiges her, das sieht fast schon wie ein Ultra-Book aus. Über den glänzenden Kunststoff haben eh schon die anderen Rezensenten geschrieben; der macht mich auch nicht ganz glücklich.
Die Geschwindigkeit hat mich positiv überrascht; für normale Büroaufgaben jedenfalls ausreichend, aber auch z.B. das 3D-Spiel Openarena läuft absolut flüssig.
Insgesamt ist das IdeaPad für den Preis auf jeden Fall empfehlenswert, wenn man wie ich einen Betrieb unter Linux plant oder ohnehin schon eine Windows-Lizenz besitzt.

This a 12mm 24x27inch acrylic sheet. I am using it for my FTIR multi-touch table.
The edges were cut quite finely when the sheet arrived.

Instead of considering this infrastructure as a flat screen (surface) displaying pre-rendered video loops, the project is working on the architectural characteristics of the tower and its urban context. On Place Rogier, at the bottom of the tower, a station is mounted where people can interact either individually or collectively with the visual and luminous display (= the tower) through a multi touch screen. Both static (touch) as dynamic input (gesture) is recognized to generate an elementary graphical language of points, lines and surfaces combined with physical behaviours (growth, weight, ...) taking a monochromatic colour palette (background) combined with black and white (graphical elements).
Once a composition is created, it can be sent as an electronic postcard with a snapshot from the tower, taken from a distant location. It is also uploaded on the specific project website ( www.dexia-tower.com ) where people can retrieve their postcard, as electronic and printable format, with Christmas and New Year’s wishes from Brussels.

Hay muchas razones por las que te costará apartar la vista del nuevo iPod touch. Por ejemplo, la pantalla LCD retroiluminada de 960 por 640 píxeles: tiene una densidad de 326 píxeles por pulgada, la mayor jamás vista en un iPod.
