Experimenting with the SMC Takumar

This is Muff, my second rabbit, who I named long before I'd heard of "muff" as a euphemism for vag. She was a Holland Lop.

Muff was not a very pleasant rabbit. I got her around October 1st, 1996, after my previous rabbit (Dexter) died on my 11th birthday a few weeks earlier.

Muff would sometimes bite or lunge at us when we'd try to pick her up. At the time, I didn't really consider that rabbits are prey animals, and are inherently less likely to want to spend time around humans (unlike social and predatory animals like dogs). So as a pre-teen, it was disappointing that my pet didn't seem to like me.

Fast-forward to the year 2020, and I've had a parrot named Terrance for almost 15 years, who also bites me. So maybe, to paraphrase George Costanza, it's not them...it's me :/

Having said that, Terrance likes to spend time with me far more often than Muff did.

Muff died around 2003; she was around 6 years old.

A friend brought this to me today and explained that the idea is that they are used to calm an anxious person.

Each muff has attachments which can be fiddled with - these are usually buttons, beads or other 3D items.

Ann Quigley knitted the muff and Pamela Downes created the attached flower

That bit of Poons Christmas where the hats and things are passed around. I wanna go at the mankini tho!

This is a sign that was found when the building it was attached to was renovated in Summer 1996. The company that used to occupy the building was called "Brown, Muff & Co. Ltd.".

My immature side found the "brown muff" but rather amusing. I originally took the same photo a couple of years back when I first came to Bradford but that was before I owned a digital camera

Can you believe that muff's ever went out of fashion?
