Another unusual visitor to MSP due to another unfortunate medical emergency. Cathay Pacific 806 departs runway 17 to resume her journey from Hong Kong to Chicago O'Hare.
This airframe started life as a passenger mover for American in 1991 before becoming a freight dog for FedEx in 1996.
The 208th 747 that UPS has sent to MSP departs for the return trip to Louisville. This was also the 9th visit here for N582UP.
It's been almost a year and a half since I was last able to catch the fish at MSP. Here, the salmon takes flight at sunset as Alaska 781, bound for Seattle.
This airframe was originally slated for Air Bridge Cargo but the order was not taken up and ultimately acquired by UPS with delivery taken on 16 NOV 2020.
This particular MD-10 is the only one ever to complete an inverted dive in the notorious hijack-attempt incident from 7 APR 1994. I won't go into it here but you can certainly Google "FedEx flight 705" and learn about an amazing and horrific fight for survival.

After being delivered to Delta in Minneapolis on January 30th, N826NW taxis out for its first revenue flight as Delta 162 to Amsterdam.
Delta Airlines was the launch customer for this improved 242-metric ton maximum takeoff weight version back in May 2015. With up to 500 nautical miles further range and 5 metric tons of additional payload, this is now the fifth aircraft of this type to enter service for Delta.
Sniff, sniff...ahhh, new airplane smell!
The Skyteam livery on this airframe was replaced with standard Delta paint five months after this photo. It was recently put into storage on 3 FEB 2021.
UPS 2557 departing for Louisville.
Didn't luck out on the light or direction of takeoff for this one, but I'm not ever going to complain about seeing a 747 takeoff!
The US Air Force's newest multirole passenger/cargo-tanker, the KC-46A Pegasus, arrives after a training flight. This aircraft is based out of McConnell AFB, Kansas as a member of the 344th Air Refueling Squadron, 22nd Air Refueling Wing.
The KC-46 is a heavily modified version of the Boeing 767-200ER. The USAF accepted its first production KC-46 in January 2019. 179 total aircraft are planned for production.
