The MSC FANTASIA in the harbor of Santa Cruz on Tenerife Island.

I made a cruise with this ship years ago.

Record Breaker.

Mediterranean Shipping Company's Swan-Sentosa Service rotation brought in a first of it's kind visitor to the San Pedro Bay. The ultra large container ship, MSC Sixin with capacity for 23,656 TEU it's the first twenty-thousand TEU plus container ship to call at a US port. Even though the ship sailed into port with a partial load, with the entire rear section left unloaded above the deck, and the two sections next the funnel behind halved; this ship still looked impossibly large with a eight day discharge and reload to crane height.

This was the biggest ship in terms of length that Portbury has ever had to handle. There certainly was quite a few people that turned out to see her come in.

Working in the California Express Service lane MSC Giulia works the middle berth at TTI, as it gets ready to head south to Lazaro Cardenas, Mexico. Pretty good change of pace from MSC to use a slightly smaller container ship for this service to add just a little variety to what they bring into Long Beach and Los Angeles.

Affectionately known as 'Billy' at the ELR, 4002 is one of a pair of Hudswell Diesel-Electrics which were used by the Manchester Ship Canal Company as part of their extensive fleet operating around Trafford Park.

The pair were numbered 4001/2 at the MSC. Sister loco 4001 also survived for many years as a static non-operational exhibit at the Winfields Store site at Acre Village (between Haslingden and Accrington) however the loco was cut up in 2018 as it was in a poor state. 4001 has donated many parts to allow 4002 to live on as a working example. Information from East Lancs Railway diesel web site. Billy is seen here with a demonstration photographic train at Castlecroft diesel depot
