A test run using the new Baader MPCC mark 3 and 130pds @ F5.
Previously, the mark II gave very bad reflections when used with a modified DSLR or CCD camera. It was also prone to letting in lots of stray UV and IR. However, the mark 3 displays no such reflections and does a great job in controling stray light due to the improved coatings on the optics (and nope, I dont work for Baader!).
A very quick strip of Orion, just 45min per pane - so its only just over 2 hours worth under fairly strong moonlight (moon was quite high).
130pds, Atik 383L+, NEQ6
6x450 Ha (3 panes) 2x2 bin
Why binned? Well, 3.4" p/p isnt too shabby on this target, but the main reason is that it gives me a gain of x2.23 over 1x1 binning.
Thanks for looking!

Spring still has not sprung in Ottawa, but today we have been treated to a preview. The sun is shining and the weather isn't too cold at all.
Ventured out for a walk around the school and community centre near the house and came across a pile of dead sunflowers. I thought they looked quite interesting so the focus of today's photo is just that. (Much to Nard's relief as I was going to have him pose for me if I couldn't find anything else)
Looks lovely on a darker background, so please click "L"
