Tower MP3 gazes into the midsummer twilight.
Defensive tower MP3 (“Marine Peilstand 3”) was built in 1943 by Organisation Todt for the German Kriegsmarine in the northwestern corner of Jersey on the heathland known as Les Landes.
It was intended to be part of a network comprising nine bunkers to be placed around the entire island to observe hostile ships. Of the nine planned bunkers, only MP1, MP2 and MP3 were built.
MP3 has 2 metre thick walls and seven floors, one of them underground, along with a walled top deck where a Seetakt radar was installed.
One of the distinctive military observation towers built in Jersey during the German Occupation. This one, MP3, is at Les Landes.

(Romans 10:1-13)
Jesus came to bring spiritual LIFE to the spiritually dead and set the captives FREE! FREE from RELIGION, ERROR and outright LIES, so WE might serve THE LIVING GOD! In SPIRIT and in TRUTH!
So you'll KNOW, and not think you're to bad for God to love. The Christian LIFE isn't about how good WE are, because NONE of us are! It's about how GOOD JESUS IS! Because JESUS LOVES US, so much he died in our place and took the punishment for all of our sins on himself. The wages of sin is DEATH, and Jesus took the death WE so richly deserved for us and died in our place. The good news is, there's no more punishment for sin left. WE, you and I were all born forgive as a result of the crucifixion of God himself on the cross that took away the sins of the whole world. All we have to do is believe it, and put your Faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ. That my friends is REAL UNCONDITIONAL LOVE! YOU ARE LOVED. ❤️ ✝️ ❤️

In the middle of our garden stands a Monkey Puzzle tree (Araucaria araucana). It is something of an ancient survivor - a living fossil, native of Chile with thick, razor sharp, tough triangular leaves forming in a geometric pattern. Not suitable as dinosaur-salad and definitely not one to climb. Standing around 25m, it is visible from quite a distance. Our specimen is a male - evidenced by its long cones. It adds a ring of branches each year and until quite recently you could just about count them - we reckon it is around 50 years old now, having been planted by my in-laws at around the time of Liese's birth.
The lines on the middle shot are power lines by the way which gave somewhat accidental inspiration for the composition.
Menn Ársins preparing for the 2nd semi final show of the Eurovision Song Contest in Iceland (Söngvakeppni Sjónvarpsins 2010).
The show will be on the 16th of January and Menn Ársins will be the first act on stage.
