I'd better get to studying! drives me nuts when people leave comments with my Dutch comments that I can only barely understand!
Daughter Jess pointed out that the West women all seem to like big old houses. Kate just moved all of her stuff out of a big old house in Somerville--her apartment was 8 rooms plus she had a large basement. It's a bit of a squeeze to get it in here, but some will just stay in storage in my basement until she gets her new place.
My Thursday walk today has just been in and out of her place, up and down stairs, and into and out of the area where her cats are living, away from the stress and noise of the move.
We chose a grasscloth wallpaper to replicate what was originally in this room. We have designed it for use as a more formal living room. No TV. Instead, we will gather around the piano for family sing-alongs or light a fire and enjoy family reading time. We are refurbishing a vintage couch and two chairs that were originally in this room. Also, many of the books in here have been rescued by me, as I am physically unable to get rid of a book.
The dry season is starting so the floating village is moving back to deeper water. Location, location, location!

The movers were exceptionally nice folks who joked about the difficulties of moving stuff out of an old three-decker house with narrow twisty stairs and then into an even older house with narrow doorways at every door. Also, the final bill was LESS than estimated.
The majority of my loose LEGO parts packed up and going into the semi-trailer until they reach their new home :(
We moved at the end of November, and it was a somber mess, lemme tell you. As Dearest Son was packing up his toys, I saw this quiet vignette taking place on some packed-up books, and had to take the photo. That's his Frankie, with her friend Mouse Boy (a Stuart Little stuffie in a High School Musical boy-doll shirt).
