Happy John Muir Day!
#onthisday in 1838, John Muir, the father of Yosemite National Park and the National Park Service, was born. Muir worked tirelessly to instill the values of the wilderness in people. Believing deeply in the restorative and healing powers of nature, Muir and his followers sparked a movement that still influences the way we appreciate and conserve nature. Pictured here is Muir Woods, a strand of Coastal Redwoods that was preserved outside of San Francisco and named for the venerable conservationist. Thank you, John Muir!

Continuing my Astro Projection vision...
On one painterly after-sunset the other day, I had an out-of-body and lens experience on cityscapes of Toronto... and have been transported instantly into these cosmic dimensions that mixed all elements together as if it's a painterly whirlpool nebulae if some sort...
...all brought to you by my manual zoom and ICM magic :-)
*Added a thin layer of textures to reinforce the feel, but other than that it's a SOOC image, manual zooming & intentional camera movement during long exposure, no other processing involved.

Punk is a style of music born out of resistance. Out of the will to find a voice against social injustices, out of the desire to make a difference; to move people, and to become a movement itself with seemingly simple means.
Moving the camera while taking a pic of a plant (or possibly a tree, can't remember). Anyway, cool blur effect, and I haven't even photoshopped it yet!

captured in stark black-and-white, this image tells a quiet story of light and shadow, movement and stillness. one figure enters through a brightly illuminated door, casting long shadows across the floor, while another stands partially hidden in shadow, watching from the sidelines. the intense contrast and cinematic framing lend the scene a sense of mystery, reminiscent of classic film noir. in this moment, light becomes both a barrier and a bridge, highlighting the solitude of each figure in their own space within the frame.
Last shot of the day, taking advantage of low light gives you opportunities to show movement on your picture as depicted by the engine being blurred because of it's speed.
Sunset at Morro Bay, CA. This was created from 7 exposures combined in-camera. The tree trunk is a little imposing, but I liked how it framed the smokestacks from the now-closed powerplant. Of course, combining images rather than making one long exposure meant that the slowly drifting sailboats have many "ghosts."
