After about 4000' feet of climbing...

Fall colors up on the mountain in Arizona.

I liked this rainbow windsock, but none of us could figure out what those hooks were for. There were several of them around the ramada, and they each had flat rectangular plates on the fronts of them that looked like signs but contained no text. Andy thought they were for hanging lanterns, but someone else pointed out that they looked awfully sturdy for just hanging lanterns on. Another person suggested they were for hanging deer for skinning, but I don't know... what do you think?

Fire has burned thru sections of this canyon and many of the ridges above - but as the green grows back you can see the beauty of the change.

After all the other Coati had come down from the tree (www.flickr.com/photos/cmiles/8605611887/in/set-7215763313...) this one remained - it did not seem particularly scared and we guessed that it might be an older male keeping an eye on us! I was not setup for a close up shot but these pictures of this Coati are fun: www.flickr.com/photos/cmiles/8606716124/in/set-7215763313... and www.flickr.com/photos/cmiles/8606726538/in/set-7215763313...

On July 29 2015 I joined Ned and the gang on one of the summer Mount Lemmon hikes. We hiked the loop formed by the Mt. Lemmon Trail and the Meadow Trail (formerly the Power Line Road and the Lemmon Park Trail) at the top of the mountain.

My son picked up this little bugger on the Butterfly Trail on Mount Lemmon. (He then promptly let him go)

Looking up canyon - this is notable as one of the first really great sitting spots as you work down canyon (the canyon is beautiful in higher spots - but it very much spills thru the woods).
