Stan, one of the volunteers, is a magician, and often times shows me interesting magic tricks (here with the orange star – too hard to explain). He is actually offering classes – I am planning to attend too.
The gloves are actually not part of the trick, but part of docent’s wardrobe. The artifacts shouldn’t be touched with bare hands because of the damaging acids in our sweats... we generally try not to touch them at all, but wearing gloves reminds our visitors to not touch them themselves.
Many former B&M stations have been altered or modified over the years. The Mountainview Station in Center Ossipee, NH, has had some additions built, and now serves as a village restaurant. This station is about 22 miles south of North Conway, and is located on the abandoned segment of the Conway Branch.

March 26, 2022, Mountain View - Students, parents, and administrators from Stevenson and Theuerkauf Elementary Schools in Mountain View help Canopy Planting Leaders, CFS students, TUFs, and staff plant 13 trees at the Mountain View Whisman School District offices.
