Lower East Side, NYC

In Lisbon’s Alcântara district, this sleek, contemporary office complex houses major global firms including Cloudflare and Ernst & Young (EY). Its striking curved façades of glass and white cladding reflect the bright Portuguese sunlight, creating a streamlined, futuristic presence against the deep blue sky. The layered horizontal bands emphasize its modernist aesthetic, while extensive glazing offers panoramic views toward the nearby Tagus River and 25 de Abril Bridge. Situated near LX Factory, this location embodies Lisbon’s transformation into a hub for tech innovation, business, and design. The building’s architectural precision and urban integration make it a standout in the city’s evolving skyline.

In Lisbon’s Alcântara district, the iconic 25 de Abril Bridge stretches across the Tagus River in a striking display of engineering and color. Its deep red steel structure, reminiscent of San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge, towers above the urban landscape. Here, the foreground reveals a gritty, creative side of the neighborhood—graffiti-covered walls and street art bursting with color. Above it all, a commercial airplane ascends into the clear blue sky, adding a sense of movement and global connection. This juxtaposition of infrastructure, art, and aviation captures Lisbon’s dynamic blend of history, creativity, and modern life, particularly in the ever-evolving LX Factory area.

About Store Front II: The Murrays have been capturing impeccable photographs from the streets of New York City since the 1990s. Store Front II chronicles their continued efforts to document a little-known but vitally important cross-section of New York's "Mom and Pop" economy. From MOSCOT @moscotnyc to Sammy's Roumanian Steak House, and Economy Candy to Parisi Bakery, the Murrays reveal how New York's long-standing mom and pop businesses stand in sharp contrast to the city's rapidly evolving corporate facade. The photo above of Nom Wah Tea Parlor appears in our book "New York Nights".

In the heart of Lisbon’s Alcântara district, this lively LX Factory courtyard blends urban grit with creative charm. The weathered industrial façade tells the story of the site’s former life as a 19th-century textile factory, now transformed into a thriving hub for artists, designers, and food lovers. Colorful shopfronts like Moscot eyewear and playful pop-up stands contrast against the peeling paint and raw textures, while whimsical street art adds layers of personality. Outdoor café tables invite visitors to linger over coffee or a drink, soaking in the creative energy that makes LX Factory one of Lisbon’s most iconic destinations for culture and style.

Sol Moscot is a family-run eyecare business, which was founded in 1915 by Hyman Moscot. In 2013, the business was forced to move from its iconic second-floor location on Orchard Street in the Lower East Side to a new location on the opposite corner of Delancey and Orchard Street. Photo from 2011 appears in our newly released book "STORE FRONT II - A History Preserved" along with a very interesting interview with Dr. Harvey Moscot, the fourth-generation owner. We loved this store's #vintage #signage with that amazing #typography. We wished they could have used the #sign on their new store but Dr. Moscot told us "sadly, it won't fit on the new location. Otherwise, we definitely would have."

An assortment of NEW Prints are now available. Our limited edition signed prints range in size from 20x24 to 40x50 inches as well as a few select 11x14 prints. All C-prints are printed on Kodak Professional Endura Lustre Paper. Contact us by email or direct message for pricing and more info. Also available are signed copies of both Store Front and Store Front II.
