Early morning along Mangorei Road, semi-rural New Plymouth, New Zealand. Mount Taranaki is a dormant volcanoe (2,518 metres or 8,262 feet).

We are going to go a little further north, leaving the Sombrero Chino island to reach the Bartolomeo island. Both islands, very small, are located near the island of Santiago. The birds follow us during the crossing.

Great Gray Owl on a morning hunt. I got to see it catch 3 voles.

I make no apologies for yet another misty shot but this for me is in my top 10 of all time, taken a few years ago now but only just got round to editing it and this was the result, I was so taken with it i had to post it straight away, Fantastic moody atmosphere and I just love those misty winter colours, I have posted something similar to this, but I prefer this one!

Morning dew on an osteospermum flower from my garden

A tighter crop on a beautiful sunrise in Canmore AB. Mt. Lawrence Grassi, Ha Ling Peak and Ship's Prow reflected in Policeman's Creek.

Mount Lawrence Grassi is named for an Italian miner, who emigrated to the country in 1912. In addition to his career as a miner, he was an avid climber and became well-known and well-respected as a climbing guide at the time.

Mt. Ha Ling is named for the intrepid Chinese cook that first scaled its intimidating summit in 1896, who climbed it on a bet. This prominent peak is situated between Mt. Rundle and the Three Sisters and is over 2408 meters.

So much beauty in the Canadian Rockies.

I'm off to visit my 93 year-old father and other family members I've not seen for over a year. Many hugs ahead!

The first rays of warm sunlight hit the ground, lightening up the spider webs.

This photo was taken at the same place as my image "Where elves dance" a year earlier. However this morning the conditions were a bit different from last time; more sunlight and less mist.

I just love this place, it's a small nature reserve a short drive from where I live. I have been there several times and I have never met a person there. It such a quite and peaceful place!
