Buachaille Etive Mòr (Scottish Gaelic: Buachaille Èite Mòr, meaning "the herdsman of Etive"), generally known to climbers simply as The Buachaille, is a mountain at the head of Glen Etive in the Highlands of Scotland

Buachaille Etive Mòr (Scottish Gaelic: Buachaille Èite Mòr, meaning "the herdsman of Etive"),

I'm sure anyone who's ever been to Scotland has seen a picture of this mountain - it's in practically every tourist shop on postcards etc. Unfortunately I didn't have the time or the weather to really wait for the light so this is the best I could do.

My next few offerings will most likely be from our recent trip to one of the Aran Islands. It really is a beautiful place.

Inis Mor is the largest of the three Aran Islands and Kilronan is the main town on the island. All ferries to Inis Mor dock at the pier. From here you can choose from minibuses, horses and carts or rental bicycles to transport you around the island. If you have enough time you can also explore the island on foot.

While it is the principle town on the island it is really just a small village. It is here you will find the village supermarket, the bank and post office not to mention several pubs and a church.

Bauchaille Etive Mòr taken from the famous waterfalls nearby on a beautiful crisp and cold morning in Glen Coe, Highlands.

For the first heavy snow fall in Scotland, my friend and I instantly decided to head up to the highlands to camp for the night. After scouting the area trying to find a good spot we ended up setting up at Glen Etive. In this shot we have the mighty Buachaille Etive Mor being backlit by the full moon.

.. than a mug handle!

I love this mug, but rarely use it as it is not an easy design to actually hold! It is called the "Wave" and the handle certainly does look like a wave of ceramic! Made by Villeroy and Boch some wave mugs also sport a 'saucer' in a wave shape too!

There's a small upright mug in the first comment field.

It is Throwback Thursday, so I digged in our photos from our first Scotland Trip last year. What a legendary and epic place this is.

A page from Lake's book:

There are so many adages written about life, death, and the importance of our time on this earth.

One thing we all know for certainty is that we are born with a physical expiration date.

However, I'm one who believes that the divine energy that sustains our souls never dies. It continues to ascend and travel into other dimensions.

On the sixth of August, 2024, a very good friend of mine passed away. He was young, full of life, and he died prematurely and unexpectedly. It took a few days for this news to knock on my door. I used to feel extreme sadness at the passing of a loved one. And while it still weighs heavily on my heart, my belief in going to a better world when we die is unshakable, and that gives me strength. Did I cry for the loss of my good friend? Yes. Did I raise a glass and wish him glorious travels to his next dimension? Heck yes!

David, thank you for all our conversations about life, sports, relationships and the world. You were a true gentleman, a caring man. Your jovial personality and your shining smile were like magnets. You were one heck of a sportsman. I will miss seeing you play hockey.

One last goal for you, my friend.

I will see you again.

Peaceful travels.
