The Arch, a six-metre high Roman travertine sculpture, was presented by the artist to the nation for siting in Hyde Park in 1980- two years after his eightieth-birthday exhibition at the Serpentine Gallery, London. It was positioned on the north bank of the Long Water in a commanding position where it was enjoyed by visitors to the park until 1996, when it became apparent that The Arch had become structurally unstable. After being disassembled in 1996 due to structural instability,
The Arch is made from seven travertine stones weighing a total of 37 tonnes. The stones were sourced from a quarry in northern Italy.
The Arch has been recently restored at its original location in Kensington Gardens by The Royal Parks and The Henry Moore Foundation.

70054 "Dornoch Firth" heads a mixed goods train south through Moore, south of Warrington. This was taken shortly after the accident on 13 May 1966. A train of Covhops, loaded with soda-ash, was heading north. It was climbing to the bridge over the Manchester Ship Canal, the top of which can just be seen over the background road bridge. The second and third wagons parted and thus the rear 29 wagons came to a halt and then rolled back down the gradient. The guard applied the brakes on his van but it could not hold the train which then rolled back into the previous section and smashed into D322 at the head of the following passenger train. D322 was subsequently scrapped.
Unfortunately the driver and second man on the diesel were killed. The scene shows the aftermath some days after P/Way had got the road clear again for traffic. The white soda-ash lasted for many months.
It is known as the Acton Grange Jct accident as the junction is just beyond the background bridge.
Picture taken from the occupation bridge seen in the picture of 70032.
