Assignment 52 Challenge: A toy that tells a story
After watching the premier of the final season of Dexter on Showtime last night, I knew exactly what I wanted to depict with the figures I have. www.sho.com/sho/dexter/home
And I am in love with how this came out!!
In only 5 hours, I managed to create this scene and it only took a few snaps to get the lighting and positioning the way I wanted and for that I'm very thankful! Complex shots like this don't often happen so fast for me.
I used a long exposure, manual focus and a brief flash from a flashlight to illuminate the subject.
The "table" is the plastic from inside a box of ammo with gorilla taped peg legs. The plastic is all Glad wrap. The brick wall was printed off my computer as were the photos of the "victims" of the guy on the table. I cut the apron and knife case out of fake leather and used super glue to make the folds of the knife case and attach the straps to the apron. The thing that took the longest was making the knives out of modeling clay. The slice on the face was created in post and I removed the fake joints of the figures because they detracted from the scene in my opinion.
I LOVE the show Dexter and had a LOT of fun creating this scene. Thank-you so much for such a fun challenge that gave me a 5 hour break from my very hectic life to express some creativity. I really needed it!

The next few pictures are scenes from inside and outside several of the facilities on the piazza outside the main theatre of the Phuket FantaSea in Phuket, Thailand This shot is from Inside one of the overpriced boutique stores in the grounds of the Phuket Fantasea. I loved the decor, and the mood lighting. Aoart from beachwear and a few ladies' garments, there was an assortment of t-shirts in pastel fuchsia, sky blue and turquoise. I was tempted to pick up one as the quality was good, if not the price, but they did not have anything with collar.
