Our little (4+lbs) Morkie curled up and snoozed Friday evening while I watched TV. It was nice to have her warmth next to me.

On my quick trip to Sydney last month, I kept getting told by family members how much I looked like my Mum when she was younger. They met her when she was in her mid 30's so only a bit younger than I am now.

Of course there's no bigger compliment for me but I don't always see what they see.

In this photo, I absolutely do. And I love it so much for that.

In Kentucky, our Governor, Andy Brashear, has asked Kentuckians to paint their porch lights green to show compassion when a Kentuckian dies from the COVID-19. We first used some green chalkboard spray paint, that was too light. So we decided to use some John Deere green paint. It seemed to work a bit better. Praying for the families struggling with the passing of loved ones and praying for everyone else too that are staying safe at home.

Stay safe!

the beasties - vintage-style honeycomb rolypolys hold candy treats or battery operated candlelight. (Bindlegrim 2015). Available soon from the Bindlegoods store - appearing the 2nd week of Sept 2015.

What makes a beastie? These rolypolys use a honeycomb re-created to have the smaller spacing and the tissue layer count of vintage items circa 1920. The characters have a slot within the basket that allows for Halloween treats or placement of a small battery operated tealight. Characters are dual-side printed (in a limited-edition run) in rich color of blacks, oranges, and yellows on a thick 34pt matte stock. (with an almost waxy surface) They can be placed in upright positions (with minimal support), tilted (at their randomly natural angle), or as I discovered when a wind came thru the window - in spinning motion across the table...

It is cleverly thrifty, adding but merely the gentlest touch of moodlighting necessary to capacitate the ceiling seepages' proficient handling of the remaining bulk of the æsthetic work.

Mister bought me some lovely flowers and they looked so dramatic in the light yesterday morning. Hope you have a day filled with as much drama as you want.

The lobby of Hotel Ludovice in Lisbon effortlessly channels the spirit of Portuguese sophistication and grandeur. Housed in a former 18th-century palace, this boutique hotel pays homage to its baroque roots while embracing modern luxury. A regal portrait of João Frederico Ludovice, the architect of nearby Palácio Nacional de Mafra, commands attention above a warm-lit cabinet of curated curios. Golden botanical chandeliers shimmer against textured stone walls, while lush greenery and elegant furnishings invite guests to relax. The ambiance is both intimate and opulent—perfectly reflecting the cultural richness and stylistic flair that define Hotel Ludovice and the city of Lisbon itself.

Went to Ah Chew Desserts at Liang Seah Street one evening (by the way, I think they do one of the best mango sago puddings in town) - the shophouse has been refurbished in the sixties style and had a row of these lanterns on one side of the wall.

The lighting in the shop was much brighter than what you see in the pic, but I decided to render the scene in a much darker tone... and suddenly, I feel like I'm back in the Singapore sixties... and if I were wearing a cheongsam, hmm... I may be in the mood for .....

.... more desserts-lah!

This shot of a moody black rhino was taken at Chester Zoo, UK. The lighting inside the rhino house is fantastic, highlighting the fantastic skin of these animals perfectly!

Trying some different types of photography to create different moods and looks. In this case: toy photography with spot illumination (via a Lume Cube light source), a remote trigger (Pluto Trigger for timed exposures), and two tripods to create a spooky and starkly lit image.

Wat Paknam Phasi Charoen had one of the most breathtaking views you can see in all of Thailand. Far from the usual paths people visit in Talat Phlu, this chamber in a big temple museum was just otherworldly in color and light and more intricate art. This is a 3-shot panorama flattening the dome ceiling.
