Does anyone remember the Monty Python character, D.P. Gumby?

Here is a reminder: www.youtube.com/watch?v=TNV1U34p6jk

Strobing info:

One Canon Speedlite 550EX. Placed on the table to the left of camera.

One Nissin i40 as slave placed on the table to the right

"That's the most foul, cruel and bad tempered rodent you ever set your eyes on!'

Rabbit Stew

Can half a pear still be a pear when half the pear simply is not there? Does it become something less than a pear when there is obviously less of it sitting there? If half a pear is no longer a pear, what would it be, or are we splitting hairs? And if you have two halves of a pear, are they each still just one pear or have they morphed into a pair of pears? Do you care? Please feel free to share. Just open up and let your soul be laid bare.

(With many thanks to Monty Python for the inspiration from "Eric, the Half a Bee")

As in most countries that indulge the practice, the changing of the Presidential Guard in Greece is serious business. Steeped in tradition. Pomp and precision.

It's also the flat-out goofiest display of psuedo-military force in the civilized free world (or at least that portion to which I've managed to schlep my camera). Of course, it's probably hard for an enemy to attack while they're clutching their sides in laughter so who am I to judge...

Feel free to comment or just post your favorite Monty Python line below:

Monty Python cos play or something by mice with imagination!

John Cleese in "The Ministry of Silly Walks."

"You don't frighten us, English pig-dogs! Go and boil your bottom, sons of a silly person. I blow my nose at you, so-called Arthur King, you and all your silly English k-nnnnniggets. Thpppppt! Thppt! Thppt! .... Your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries!"

I still have my old VHS copy of Monty Python and the Search for the Holy Grail. The star of the show (The Rabbit of Caerbannog) made an appearance for the photo

I would like to thank my wife for her assistance with helping me make this photo

What happens when you get frustrated with your camera.

My old Canon Ixus 400 met a terrible fate in the end!

Despite watching the film countless times, it only took until fairly recently to realise this location in Epping Forest in Loughton, Essex is the filming location for the famous 'Black Knight' scene in the 1975 film.

Watch this video of it, and see if you can recognise it. It may be difficult considering how the vegetation changes, but strangely some of the trees have hardly changed in it: www.youtube.com/watch?v=dhRUe-gz690

There is a shed on the roof of the building. It is a perfectly ordinary shed, but who knows, maybe someone has been writing music inside of it?

→ Additional info can be found here.

→ More photos in this album.

The shed is available in Bricklink's MOC Shop.

Monty Python (kinda, sorta, not really ;~)

For those who are wondering, this is a real sign at the pedestrian crosswalk of Sparks St. (pedestrian mall) and Metcalfe St. in downtown Ottawa. The business association for Sparks St. wanted to bring a little fun to the area, and it seemed fitting with the view of Parliament in the background.

"Now go away or I shall taunt you a second time!"

The French Taunter scene from Monty Python and The Holy Grail. This was nominated for best Vignette at Brickworld, and even though it did not win, I was blown away with the nomination, so I wanted to share it with everyone.

Enjoy!

This castle was used in the Monty Python movie, "Monty Python and the Holy Grail"

Rehearsing for the end of battle show for the troops, this year they decided to reenact the "Fish Slapping Dance" made famous by Monty Python...

As you can tell I am really getting bored with the weather now! :D

Added to Macro Mondays "Make me Smile"

Another scene from "Life of Brian", when Pontius Pilate (center) is mocked by the people of Judea because of his speech impediment.

John Cleese as the Centurion of the Yard is to his left, Pontius' friend Biggus Dickus is to his right.

This year is meant to be seen as a whole.

King Ricky: "What did you say, Black Knight Zombina???"

Black Knight Zombina: ((muffled muttering in Zombie))

King Ricky: "I can't understand you with that cheese grater still on your head!"

It's all fun and games till someone loses an eye! Lucky for Black Knight Zombina I can sew!! Getting that cheese grater off was not easy!!!

This 15th century castle is now known as Castle Stalker, but this appears to be an anglicisation of the gaelic, Stalcaire, meaning Hunter or Falconer. It was also Monty Python’s Castle Arghh

Today's We're Here Challenge: The Monty Python Side of Religious Expression.

The cooler temperatures lured me out for another photo drive today. I took photos along the way. This is one of them.

I'm sure you all know it...

He has to push the pram a lot.

Mr. Praline: 'Ello, I wish to register a complaint.... 'Ello, Miss?

In the bleak days of nineteen-eighty-three, as England languished in the doldrums of a ruinous monetarist policy, the good and loyal men of the Permanent Assurance Company-- a once-proud family firm, recently fallen in hard times-- strained under the yoke of their oppressive new corporate management. Pushed beyond the bounds of decent and reasonable victimisation, the aged retainers take their destiny in their own hands and-- Mutiny!

And so, the Crimson Permanent Assurance was launched upon the high seas of international finance.

Oh, no, he's resting!

It's possible, but I doubt it. Some terraces go dormant in seasons or years of low rainfall, but the growth invading this one suggests that it has indeed shuffled off its mortal coils.

This was the castle used in the movie "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" in 1974. Also the setting for the 1952 movie "Ivanhoe" with Elizabeth Taylor.

Headed to the Ministry of Silly Walks. There is no time toulouse -- like the city in France
